Publisher's Summary

Twelve-year-old Josh wants only two things in life: to guide his friends, both old and new, across the zombie-infested Texas countryside to the airlift in San Angelo, Texas using his knowledge of zombie lore, and to be reunited with his dad and baby brother at the FEMA camp.

If only he didn’t have to deal with one of the most deadly threats of any zombie apocalypse: a teenage boy determined to woo Josh’s crush, Corina, and take over the small band of kids.

Josh and the zombie hunters survived some of the worst situations the zombie apocalypse has to offer in The Living Dead Boy and Lost in Texas. Now, they’ll have to make hard choices and risk their very lives to Journey Across Zombie Texas.

Happy and sad ending!

I’ve never been happy and sad at a book ending. Happy for the books ending and sad for the ending of the series. This was a wonderful series. So easy to connect to each and every character. You’ll mourn losses and cheer the survivors.

I really enjoyed this story line and look forward to the next book. The narrator did an excellent job.

It was amazing.

I really like this series. It was well written. I still think maybe preteen more than young adult and sometimes it repeats things to many times but over all i enjoyed it. I will definitely let my 13 and 14 year old read it.

this book was a little bit of a shocker when I was not expecting that twist but I wish we could have found out what happened to Josh and Karina in the end

Journey

The characters in this book could be anyone’s children. The development of their character as their journey into the unknown is wonderful. I would and will recommend this series to everyone. Josh reminds me of my grandson and his subtle take charge attitude.

Bringing geeky back

When I reviewed the first book in this trilogy, I described it as The Walking Dead meets Scream, and while I thought the second book got away from the horror-geek-out comparisons to the latter movie, I’m happy to say that this book gets back to those nerdy roots. And, happily, like the second book, it rides the wave of improved narration (I listened to the audiobook), and storytelling. Frater did a great job of making me feel like Josh and his friends have made bad decisions all along the way, really raising the stakes and making me feel like I was with them in their perilous situations. The only complaint I have is I want more. I don’t know if there’s a 4th book in the offing, but this one does have a satisfying ending, albeit, not totally resolving some relationship dynamics I’d like to know more about.

The Living Dead Boy, Book 3

I read books 1 &2 last year, so I am very pleased that part 3 is on Audible now. I enjoyed this YA zombie apocalypse series from start to finish. I listened to the whole series in a couple of days and suggest anyone with zombie loving kids listen for Halloween.
