Publisher's Summary

Joseph Bridgeman is back and dreaming of a quiet life. All he wants is to rekindle his relationship with Alexia Finch, get to know his estranged family, and catch up on the last 20 years. Sounds simple enough.

But when a mysterious time traveler arrives in his shop, Joe learns his first trip was only the beginning, and this time, the stabilizers are coming off.

Flung back to London in the swinging '60s, Joe must save an innocent woman and her son from the clutches of a ruthless gangster. But how will he succeed when the rules of time travel have changed, his present is a confusing mess, and the past is a world without Internet, decent coffee, or sat-nav?

Time doesn’t heal, after all. It just adds salt.

Joseph Bridgeman and the Silver Hunter is audiobook two in the Downstream Diaries series, an emotionally intelligent time-travel series featuring action, mystery, thrills, sadness, comedy, and mind-bending twists.

Good second installment

This promises to be a good series. I’m happy with the improvements made to Joseph Bridgeman‘s time travel experiences, this volume contains a good story from finish to end (no dreaded cliffhangers) and there’s just enough of a teaser at the end to make me want to keep reading to see what happens in the next book. Kudos to Nick Jones.

Fun like the first book.

Still a fun book, even better than the first. Great characters once again and Vinny is just too much fun. Left a lot of loose ends on the Alexia storyline which was kinda odd. I read all time travel and this is more fun and funnier than most. If you liked the first book this one is a little better and more of the same.

What happened?

Book 1 was great. Not sure what happened to the author to make such a horrid second book. I couldn't get past the first jump to the 60s, it was that bad. Thee whole Chloe incident was unnecessary and ridiculous. Also, you would think that after the events of the first book Joe would have gained some confidence in life, but no, he is a bumbling idiot in this book. Can't figure anything out, can't improvise, can't understand what is happening even though it's obvious. Can't even enjoy being wealthy or figure out he can jump and do whatever he wants with his life. What an idiot. Why do authors think that idiot protagonists are entertaining?

Listened to it at every opportunity...

Having played this whilst dog walking, driving, getting changed, in between clients, at bedtime and basically whenever I could, I am feeling a bit bereft and can not wait for the third book! The author pulls you through a fast paced adventure with great suspense, likeable characters and a lot of fun and good humour along the way. It combines real life and people with unusual circumstances that make you suspend your disbelief and go along for the ride. The narrator was excellent - it’s as if I already knew him from reading the first book, he fitted so well. I really enjoyed the book and so was delighted to buy the sequel. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

need more!

This is a great book and after reading the first book, I hope there are many more to come. Both the author and the narrator make you feel a part of the whole adventure.
