Publisher's summary

The eighth installment in number one New York Times best-selling author Gordon Korman's Swindle series!

Jingle: a light clinking or tingling sound, often heralding the approach of Santa, reindeer, or the mysterious thief of a priceless possession...

Griffin Bing and his friends are not happy. Instead of going away for winter break, they've been signed up to volunteer at a local Christmas extravaganza...as elves.

It's not easy being an elf. Not when Santa is bad news and Rudolph is being played by a Doberman who makes up his own rules wherever he goes. But being an elf is nothing compared to being blamed when a prized Christmas possession - worth over $10 million - is stolen right from under your nose. It's time for these elves to get off the shelf and track down a Christmas thief!

Predictable but fun.

Love the Swindle Series. The story was predictable but still fun to listen to. On to the next one.

Review Of Jingle

Honestly, I was looking forward to this book despite myself. The first few books of this series were seriously masterpieces, and although the quality in the last few have been slightly lackluster, I still had high hopes that Gordon Korman would redeem himself as well as the series. In that aspect I was not disappointed. The heart of this story is interesting and funny, and I loved the arguments between Ben's parents. But so much of this book felt marred with despair, with the entire team even quoting at one point. I would love to give another Gordon Korman book a full five stars, but it seems that this series is seriously lacking the spark that made the first few so hilarious and relatable. Still, I found myself interested and entertained by the story. While I still hope that Gordon could put some joy back into this series, this book is the opposite of boring. One note though: when did Pitch become downright mean? I remember her always being snarky, sure, but in this book she was almost Vader like.
