I want to enjoy. Need a second version.

I love the knowledge and narration. The issue I have is the constant references to bible chapters to support the writing. It breaks the flow and keeps me from the becoming engaged in the reading. A version without the referrals would be appreciated.

brought to light and explained many of the difficult to understand passages that are normally glossed over. Excellent research.

well done breakdown of Paul's writing

Very insightful. Very complete and thoughtful study of Paul and his writings/journeys. Good backup and references.

I found the book interesting

I found this book a good companion to the Bible study I was taking. My only gripe is all the citations disrupt the narrative flow

Too repetitive

Good information but way too repetitive on a few key points. Had to put it down about half way through.

not suited to audio format

While I was initially excited, listening soon became tedious due to footnotes referencing Bible chapter/verse after nearly every sentence. great for a text, but gratingly awful to listen to while driving. Also narration needs an editor; specifically mispronunciation of ALL plural possessive cases with the superfluous addition of 'eses' (ie disciples' + eses) and there are entirely too many of them to ignore. Might be worth a read, but if you want to listen, it will be a slog.

There should be two versions of this audiobook.

one version should be without all the biblical reference callouts because it is so distracting to try and listen to this between every sentence with a long list of biblical references in fact I'm going to have to stop listening to it I also own the hard copy in my I can glaze over it easily but in audio there's no getting around it the publisher should release a second version of this book without the biblical scriptures just so we can actually listen to the content fluently easily and understandably.

Excellent book

I loved it, the detail and cross references throughout the books tie Acts to other scriptures. I got a better idea of who Luke was and the roles of Peter and Paul

Disappointed

Like another reviewer, I wanted to like this audiobook. Not only are the verbal references distracting to the point that I finally shut it off, but Mr. Limbaugh's writing reads like a white paper or a research report. He includes lots of references to the Bible and other people's interpretation of it and historical events, but I don't get a feel for his personality or for his opinion of much at all.
