Mark grew up in an atheistic home, and after his father's death, began a skeptical search for truth through exploring science, philosophy, and history, asking the big questions of life, and eventually finding answers in Christianity. In a disarming, winsome, and persuasive way, The Problem of God responds to the top 10 questions people raise against God, and Christianity.

A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Publisher's Summary
Ravi Zacharias and Vince Vitale defend the absolute claims of Christ against modern belief in the "secular gods" of atheism, scientism, relativism, and more.
The rise of these secular gods presents the most serious challenge to the absolute claims of Christ since the founding of Christianity itself. The Christian worldview has not only been devalued and dismissed by modern culture, but its believers are openly ridiculed as irrelevant. In Jesus Among Secular Gods, Ravi Zacharias and Vince Vitale challenge the popular "isms" of the day, skillfully pointing out the fallacies in their claims and presenting compelling evidence for revealed absolute truth as found in Jesus. This audiobook is fresh, insightful, and important, and faces head on today's most urgent challenges to Christian faith. It will help seekers to explore the claims of Christ and will provide Christians with the knowledge to articulate why they believe that Jesus stands tall above all other gods.

Affirming the truth
I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially if you are a "thinker". It thoroughly uncovers many of the reasons for and against God, relating the arguments to past and present contradicting and affirming arguments. it exposed me to new ways of viewing truth, and thus valuing it. It is a heavy read if you are unfamiliar with philosophical language, popular worldviews, and argumentative writing style; but we'll worth it.

Not Quite What I Expected
Most of this book I have heard before, but what was I to expect? There are only so many ways to tell the same truth. The arguments for and against Christianity are all the same. There is nothing new there, and I suppose there never will be. The atheist will always claim there is no God and base his argument on improper science, while the Christian will show the science as improper but more so how the lack of God would leave the world in chaos. For my part there is no question, the only God that has ever brought happiness and peace in any lasting sense is the Christian God. Ravi Zacharias and Vince Vitale did put some of their personal stories into the book, but I guess I was expecting more. The book did address some of the counter cultural topics and while I was expecting an epic battle between cultures, I found that the only differences seem to lie in the narcissistic view that athieism brings as compared to the service centered view that Christianity brings. The ironic part is that while the differences between the atheistic and Christian cultures are so minor, the world's they create are as different as Robert E. Howard's Hyboria and C.S. Lewis' Narnia. Both are filled with wonder and magic, but only one has hope and peace through even the darkest of times. A perfect example of an atheistic world and a Christian World. Only through Christ Jesus can peace truly last, and when you accept it, even in the coldest winters you will have peace.

Not easy to listen to.
This book may be good to read but I found it hard to listen to. It’s complicated and if I were reading it I may go slower and back up once in a while. Also, just my personal preference, but the voice of the reviewer was hard for me to listen to. Try a sample first or consider buying the book as I am sure there is some good information in it.

How can this review help in any case?
I feel this book is a stop gap in anyone's journey. I feel the authors may have got off the journey early to satisfy needs rather than a continuous improvement journey. Past and childhood experiences may have shaped the direction and if conscious fulfilment was achieved then my full blessings to them. I feel there is an authority in play in their consciousness to which they feel esteemed now. That's Ok. Great book. It's like a great Sunday. The humour is fun but also on the subject matter. Listening to this book will certainly do no harm. God Bless
