Inside his head

Jeffrey Dahmer is probably the most famous and one I have spend a lot of time researching between college physiology essays and my own interests. Ive seen the movies, the docs, and even read some others book but THIS BOOK!!! James Richmond has become one of my favorite writers, assisting as I step into serial killers minds. Instead of studying Jeffery dahmer, this book is a one way ticket directly into his head. MUST READ!!!

Detailed, explicit, and compelling!

In this book/audiobook, James Richmond provides a richly textured narrative about the life and crimes of one of the most notorious American serial killers of recent history, Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer. Dahmer’s first murder was committed at the tender age of 18 when he was only three weeks out of high school. In all, he murdered a total of 17 boys and young men in some of the most foul and gruesome ways imaginable. His modus operandi included rape, dismemberment, necrophilia, and cannibalism. He eluded capture for 13 years before his world imploded and authorities closed in. His disturbing story is laid out in graphic detail in this book/audiobook. I found the material to be well-researched, clearly presented, and positively chilling in its content. True crime is one of my favorite genres and I always appreciate when the author makes the extra effort to provide some psychological insights instead of merely regurgitating names, dates, places, and crimes committed. I felt this story was significantly enhanced by glimpses into the working of Dahmer’s mind as supported and suggested by the facts of his personal history. The narrator, Aaron Smith, did an outstanding job relaying the story as well as conveying the emotional turmoil of a man who committed unspeakable atrocities upon so many hapless victims. Though I would not recommend this book/audiobook for younger or more sensitive individuals due to the explicit content, I highly recommend it to any mature fan of the true crime genre.

Very well-written and thoroughly terrifying!

Such a terrifying and intriguing rendition of the Jeffrey Dahmer story! It never ceases to amaze me at how twisted and tormented serial killers' minds are. This story is so hard to believe because of how unexpected and gruesome Dahmer's tactics and cannibalism was. As is typical for James Richmond true crime novels, the author perfectly recounts Dahmer's life from early childhood through to his killing rampage. I enjoy the author's take on the story and find that he can recount the tory while remaining factual yet adding unique touches. The narrator also adds an additional intriguing touch with his accent and role playing as the story introduced new characters. Overall, I recommend this book and all those by this author! You are sure to enjoy it, even if you've heard the story before. Nothing like a true crime audiobook to listen to during walks, while cleaning, driving, or simply lounging.

Well Written

I thought this book took an interesting look into Dahmer’s crime spree. Though I was already familiar with the case, I like the amount of time that the author spent on Dahmer’s early years and even gave an idea of what his parents were like. I learned some things there that I did not know before. The way that the author gets into the mind of Dahmer throughout the story was an interesting touch that made this a compelling listen.

Narration went well with the material.

Not accurate

Short, not accurate to the facts, and seems to brush over facts in order to keep the story short. Complete waste of time and money.
