Publisher's Summary

The Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series continues with a couple fighting to keep what they thought they had and gain what they didn’t know they needed.

Roxie Montgomery met her soul mate when she least expected it. When he asked her to marry her, she thought her happily-ever-after was only just beginning. Then, she found that walking into the sunset was much harder than her favorite books made it out to be. After a crushing loss, she feels as though she doesn’t know her husband anymore, or rather…she doesn’t know herself.

Carter Marshall has loved Roxie since the first time he saw her. But as the days pass between them, so does the distance. He doesn’t know how to show her that he’s all in, and honestly doesn’t know if she’s in at all. When an accident changes everything, they’ll have to decide if what they have can be salvaged, or if starting over is the answer. Or even possible.

Without fighting, without a true new beginning, sometimes, the remnants of what was lost can leave anyone jagged, shells of what they were before. It will take more than the idea of forever for Roxie and Carter to find themselves again, but as the Montgomerys know, nothing worth fighting for is easy.

Another Great Addition to this Series

The beginning of this story hurts a bit. The miscommunication is tough to listen to between Roxie and Carter but since we hear about it from both sides we are rooting for these two to make amends and stick together. Luckily, Carter snaps out of stubbornness and vows to keep his marriage together. Unfortunately, that means bringing up a tragic loss and tackling the miscommunication he's let get out of hand with the love of his life.

This was a tough listen because of the intense emotion from each character. That being said it was real and touching. It's a great addition to this series. I would absolutely recommend this book to those that love Carrie Ann Ryan's writing and to those that love her Montgomery Ink series.

The narrator was just perfect for this book. I've listened to Joe Arden read other books before and was excited to see he was reading this installment as well. Just a fantastic actor!

I was lucky enough to receive this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

Jagged Ink

The performance by Joe Arden as always was amazing. He has such a great voice and it’s always easy to distinguish between each character.

Jagged Ink is such a lovely but heartbreaking story. It’s so touching because of the fact that it happens everyday in real life. The reality of it is what makes it so much more powerful as a read.

Roxie and Carter rushes their marriage a bit, Roxie believes that Carter only agreed because of the circumstances not knowing that he is truly deeply in love with her. Now that the circumstances have changed tensions have risen between them. The family never knew the reasons behind the rush marriage so they don’t understand the tension between the couple. After a close to death accident Carter and Roxie split but still hurt for each other. And must find a way to sooth the hurt between them.

Beautiful Story

Jagged Ink was a beautiful story of second chances. It was one of the few stories that has been able to bring a tear to my eye while reading it. Carter and Roxie's story isn't like others and I found it refreshing to read. I enjoyed the whole book and was happy with the narration.

Great Story

I loved this story between Carter and Roxie.. This is a story of rediscovering each other after a drifting apart. I was not expecting the emotional roller-coaster this story took me on, but it's so worth the ride. You will not be disappointed..

You will definitely have opinions ...

I'll be honest, I had a hard time with this book. I felt like not only was communication missing from this relationship, but really so was common courtesy. Not only did they shut each other out, but they shut out family and friends. I actually felt myself being angry with them because of this.

When the feelings finally came out in this story, I understood why they needed time apart, but I was still upset with the fact they did not lean on their family and friends. You have a support network for a reason, even if it's just one person you can confide in. But neither one of these accessed their support system during any of this.

I guess, being angry with these characters is better than being indifferent, but this story just hit a nerve for me. Not saying it will for you, but for me it did. You will definitely have an opinion when you finish this book. I'm curious what it is.

Amazing emotional listen

Omg this story just wrecked me in so many ways emotionally. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions and the way Carrie Ann Ryan spins the tale is very beautiful. Carter and Roxie have a lot to deal with and to learn and just the way they got to happy is truly beautiful. I’m still emotional. I absolutely love this story. Joe Arden did a absolutely amazing job of Narrating Jagged Ink. I really enjoyed listening to this.

Love Joe Arden

Jagged Ink
I found this really hard to rate and review. On one hand I absolutely love CAR and most of her books I loved the way the book was written and included very well into the current series but I just didn’t jell well when I read Carter and Roxi, even though I’ve been waiting to find out what all drama between them was all about.
I know not every relationship is easy and needs working at but I just felt that it was all unnecessary because of there lack of there communication and they hurt each other and there family because of something as simple as them not wanting to stop working and talk to each other.
But I love CAR so I listen to audible and found this book so much more enjoyable and absolutely love Joe Arden. I did give the ebook 3 stars but even with enjoying the audiobook more I still didn’t jell completely so I ungraded it to 4 stars.
I could of given 5 stars just because I love this author but I really didn’t enjoy this book like all the others and couldn’t rate dishonestly.
