Publisher's Summary

From the #1 bestselling author of The Secret Wife comes a story of love, passion, and tragedy as the lives of Jackie Kennedy and Maria Callas are intertwined—and they become the ultimate rivals, in love with the same man.

The President's Wife; a Glamorous Superstar; the rivalry that shook the world...

Jackie Kennedy is beautiful, sophisticated, and contemplating leaving her ambitious young senator husband. Life in the public eye with an overly ambitious—and unfaithful—man who could hardly be coaxed to return from a vacation after the birth of a stillborn child was breaking her spirit. So when she's offered a holiday on the luxurious yacht owned by billionaire Ari Onassis, she says yes...to a meeting that will ultimately change her life.

Maria Callas is at the height of her operatic career and widely considered to be the finest soprano in the world. And then she's introduced to Aristotle Onassis, the world's richest man and her fellow Greek. Stuck in a childless, sexless marriage, and with pressures on all sides from opera house managers and a hostile press, she finds her life being turned upside down by this hyper-intelligent and impeccably charming man...

Little by little, Maria's and Jackie's lives began to overlap, and they come closer and closer until everything they know about the world changes on a dime.

Appendix not recorded 😔

Read on GoodReads that there is an appendix from the author that outlines what parts are true and where the author made presumptions. Wish that had been recorded.

Amazing!

I have always been interested in the life of Jackie Kennedy which is why I chose this book. After listening to this beautiful story of two strong women whose lives were inexplicably intertwined I’m even more interested than before. Beautifully written and EXQUISITELY performed. The narrator made this an experience to listen to. Would recommend over and over again!

Enjoyable historical fiction

Perhaps this speculative story answers why Jackie inherited money so little from Aristotle's estate. My only complaint is the repeated mispronunciation of "Foch" the name of the avenue where Aristotle lived in Paris. It's such a notable avenue and it's so easy to look up the French pronunciation on the internet.

Wonderful story with prefect narration

I was wrapped up in this story! I’m curious to know how much was of this was true.

The Author does a fabulous job storytelling. The narration was also really great! The voices were a prefect match to the characters!

Nicely done

The author did a good job of giving each person a good motive. The overall story is quite sad and not overly interesting. But the narrator is very good. So I give it a 4 minus. It isn't the authors fault that the truth is a sad story.

Jackie and Maria

I enjoyed this book so much! It was well written and grabbed my attention from the start. I’ve read other books by Gill Paul; she’s one of my favorites. Lisa Flanagan was outstanding with the narration. Thank you both very much.

interesting enough to recommend

was hesitant at first, kind of reading a soap opera, but it filled in a lot of gaps as I remember the big moments that made the news and wondered about. I do wonder what was actual fact but still interesting for folks who remember the 60's and 70's well

Great perspective of the rich and famous!

The inquisitive part of me enjoyed getting some insight of this marriage and love affair! What really surprises me, is how young all three of these wealthy and amazing people passed away. Is that what money and fame can do to us?
