Publisher's summary

The victim of a witch's curse, Jack has been awake for 200 years. Unable to die, unable to sleep, he's trapped in a state of existence that no one can relate to, not even his vampire best friend, Victoria.

Using his unique condition, he has helped Victoria in keeping the supernatural world at bay. Evil vampires, werewolves, and monsters have all died at their hand. But he's about to face his biggest challenge, eight-year-old orphan Tiffany.

Tiffany shows Jack a side of life he's never seen. A beautiful, hopeful world, where even someone full of rage and disdain for mortal life can find happiness.

However, when his new life and friends are in danger, Jack will unleash a fury 200 years in the making.

Fun

Love this story! Wish there were more on Audible! I listen to this book every few months and it never gets old. I'm a big fan of the entire series.

Great story, horrid edits and narration

The story is good and the narrator's voice is perfect. What isn't so good is the parts where the narrator recorded sections of the book with a nose cold and the MANY very bad edits: sentences cut off, mistakes that weren't edited out where the narrator makes a mistake, shouts "bluh!" and restarts the sentence.

Great story

Ok I loved the story, that being said the narrator is the only thing that could be better the random pauses and him losing place hurts this otherwise great story.
Still loved it though.

Great story not so good editing/narrator

I don’t know why they started in the middle of the series. If you have not read the books it might be confusing.

love this series

let me begin by saying i want all of the series on audible so my only complaint is the director or editor must have been out to lunch. flub line here heavy sigh, repeating quite a few sentices false starts the editing of the recording .is a little annoying. but I love this series so I highly recommend.

Great book, awesome story, and a great series.

They need to release all of the books in the series as audiobooks, this is the third book in the series.
Jack has to be one of my favorite characters ever hes a complete badass.

Possible the worst narration ever!

What did you like best about Jack Kursed? What did you like least?

The story is OK, not terrible, but the narration is hoooorrrrrible. JF over annunciates every freaking syllable. He's very monotone, and to top it off, this wasn't even a finished cut. There are redoes throughout the book, talk about trippy. From the Amazon reviews, this must read much better than it was narrated.

Do you think Jack Kursed needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No !!!!

Any additional comments?

The plot is not that bad, the main character is basically every crusty, angry, old cop character, who magically finds love in a small child, all the while he's killing the people who deserve it most. That being said, his magical situation is unique and lends to the potential for some kick ass action scenes. Cool vampire, with some potentially cool allies - that part I would be interested in reading/listening to.

Nice idea, bad execution

Would you try another book from Glenn Bullion and/or John Feather?

Probably not. The narration by John Feather was sloppy. You could hear when he messed up and started over. There were sections missing and you could hear him using a computer as he narrated. The writing was just as bad with shifting POVs within the same paragraphs. Poor grammar (verb tenses shifted) and lots of telling rather then showing.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Clariel by Garth Nix

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of John Feather?

Oliver Wyman, Scott Brick, Stefan Rudnicki, Simon Vance, Gabriel de cuir

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes, the idea was interesting and Tiffany was a fun character as well as Victoria.

Any additional comments?

I wish this book had been better. The idea immediately attracted me. Sadly the unlikeable main character, to the endless telling rather then showing, to parts of the book missing to bad narration just killed my enjoyment factor.

Narration made it difficult

This is a fantastic story written by Glenn. However, the narration and the lack of editing made this almost unbearable to listen. I know why this is the only book in this series that has been turned into an audible book. If the narration for the other books is like this, they would not sell. That said, the story is a great one.

The recording was poorly edited

the narration had multiple false starts and section repeats, as well as a few throat clearings that were not in the book and not appropriate to the scene. Mediocre performance at best
