Publisher's summary

Jotham is the king of the House of Protection. He was the youngest male ever to assume the position because of the sudden death of his father in Jotham's 20th cycle. In the last 40 cycles, he married his life mate, Lata, and lost her in a transport accident. He had two sons and lost one due to his son's own treachery. Now his first son, Barek, is interested in a woman, and Jotham is going to find out everything about her he can.

Jacinda is from the House of Healing. She is the widow of an assemblyman for the House of Protection. Stephan was her life mate even though he was 20 cycles older than she. His sudden death devastated her, and if it weren't for her three children, she isn't sure she would have survived. In the years that have followed his death, she has learned to live with her loss and, more importantly, that life can still be good. She has healed.

When Jotham summons Jacinda to the Palace, his only intent is for her to help him gather information on Amina, Jacinda's great-niece. That plan goes out the window when Jacinda refuses. She challenges not only his right to interfere in Barek's life but questions how he's lived his own since Lata's death.

Two strong personalities come together after having loved and suffered loss. Can they find enough common ground and courage to chance a new love? Or are they destined to live the rest of their lives alone?

One of my favorites!

This book from MK Eidem is becoming one of my favorites! The narrators and story as usual in the Challenge series were amazing. I was extremely excited when there was actual singing added, very nice! I look forward to the next book!

Jacinda's Challenge good story. However the sound effects are not terrible

This book skips with the sound effects. Too much music. Needs more story line and less music.

Another good book from M.K. Eidem

So....I read previous reviews before purchasing this book, and let's just say one of the reviewers was so spot on about the narration of King Jotham. Let me just preface by saying I loved this character, and how he was portrayed by this narrator...however, he was so very impassioned during the love scenes...just not in a sexual way. It was more like a general inspiring his troops to wage war. That being said, this did not deter from my enjoyment of this book in any way.

Love the Series

I'm so very excited to have book3 of the Imperial series in audio. Just wish the ending wasn't so abrupt. It just seems to hang out there. I actually love all M.K. Eidem books and can't wait for her to release more books. Wishing lots of happy, productive moments for MKE. Love the multi voice narration, too.

Another outstanding book

I have enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone.
Awesome book with great characters.
What can I say but that I have loved all her books. Each one is unique but she connects them very well and I keep wanting more after each one. Plus she leaves it open to hear other stories. Can wait for the next one to come out!!! I haven't been disappointed yet!

Very Distracting

I was pretty disappointed with this book. Not because I didn't enjoy the story (which is actually my favorite in the series), but because the narrator RUINED the voice of King Jotham. His reading of Jotham's voice was easily one of the most annoying and distracting things I've ever heard.
