Publisher's summary

If you want to learn Italian in a fun and entertaining way, then keep reading....

The truth is the traditional classroom-style method used to learn a foreign language isn’t really that good. Memorizing dozens (or even hundreds) of grammar rules is hard, and remembering them while you’re in an actual conversation is even harder. But think about it.

How did you learn your first language? Did someone give you a grammar book while you were still in the baby cradle? Or did you learn to speak by simply listening to others? Even science agrees, the best way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself in it, listen and talk to native speakers, and actually use the language you want to learn.

Unfortunately, not everyone can just move to Italy to learn the language. That’s why listening to native-spoken Italian stories is your best choice.

The Italian short stories in this audiobook will help you:

  • Avoid memorizing grammar rules for grammar’s sake - instead, you’ll listen to practical uses in everyday conversations, and after a while, following grammar will become natural to you
  • Learn over 1,600 Italian words and expressions, thanks to the vocabulary included at the end of each story
  • Understand colloquial phrases and expressions that people actually use so that talking to a native will be easier
  • Learn conversational Italian, and improve your speaking skills thanks to the many natural dialogues in each story
  • Improve your listening and pronunciation skills

All the stories have a useful vocabulary section, summaries in both Italian and English, and questions to help you verify your comprehension of the plot. Even if you tried learning Italian in the past and failed, you can dramatically increase your comprehension and grow your vocabulary with these short stories.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

A fun way to learn

This is definitely the kind of audiobook which will help you learn. It's nothing like the long random list of words and their boring definitions. The first 7 chapters of the book give you useful tips on how to make the most out of these short stories. For some people, this might be a bit of a drag, but as a language teacher, I urge you to listen to them. The rest of the book has 6 sections: 1. The story itself, 2. A summary in Italian, 3. A listening comprehension exercise, 4. the answer key, 5. the summary in English, and 6. the vocabulary. Best of all, the book comes with a pdf with all the content of the book. So if you missed something, or you just want to listen and repeat or even memorize the stories, you will be able to do it. Great stuff!
