Publisher's summary
Is it possible to learn a language as complex as Italian when you're an adult?
Does it necessarily entail a lot of hard work and time consumption?
Truthfully, the answer is yes...it can be harder to learn as an adult.
That happens because an adult's mind works differently than a kid's; it is less plastic, less dynamic, and more reliant on consolidated conceptions.
Also, adults tend not to have plenty of free time....
But, on the other hand, an adult's mind is also more analytical, better at seeing the whole picture and noticing the existing links between factors.
Our learning method takes advantage of the specific strength points of an adult's mind to let you achieve major results with minor effort.
We will exploit your natural analytical skills and simultaneously prevent you from relying on your existing language conceptions....
Why?
So you can receive and consolidate new knowledge in the best and fastest way possible!
You will learn Italian in a dynamic way that makes studying stimulating and compelling, keeping your motivation high throughout the process.
Italian Phrasebook for Adult Beginners is not just a phrasebook....
It is an interactive tool for beginners to start learning Italian and put the new knowledge immediately into practice.
Along with language learning, this book provides a quick handbook for travelers and tidbits of information about the Italian country and culture.
In particular, with Italian Phrasebook for Adult Beginners, you'll discover:
- How to approach the Italian language
- How to pronounce words in Italian
- The basics of Italian grammar
- How to formulate questions and answers
- Common Italian words and phrases that you can find on tickets, road signs, etc.
- Common phrases in various scenarios, including travel, tourism, business, and leisure
- How to have a phone call in Italian
- How to seek help in Italian
- A quick handbook with over 100 handy expressions divided by theme/scenario
In addition, there are numerous exercises to actively practice with all that you learned from the book, including pronunciation, comprehension of written sentences, and having a conversation.
Plus, you'll receive additional Italian resources as a bonus so you can grasp the Italian language with fun and ease!
With our approach, learning a language can be fun even for grown-ups.
Prepare yourself to explore the beauties of the Italian tongue without any pressure, stress, or frustration.

Story
Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

Story
In 1834, Osborne Russell joined an expedition from Boston, which proceeded to the Rocky Mountains to capitalize on the lucrative salmon and fur trade. Beginning at the age of 20, he detailed the life of a trapper in his journal and recorded his adventures through treacherous terrain, encounters with dangerous wildlife, and confrontations with the Rockies natives of the Rockies. Osbourne would remain there for the next nine years. Journal of a Trapper is his remarkable account as he developed into an experienced trapper and a seasoned mountain man of the Rockies.

Story
New Hampshire features Frost's meditations on rural life, love, and death, delivered in the voice of a soft-spoken New Englander. Critics have long marveled at the poet's gift for capturing the speech of the region's natives and his realistic evocations of the area's landscapes. This compilation, first published in 1923, earned Frost the first of his four Pulitzer Prizes and includes several of his best-known poems: "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", "Nothing Gold Can Stay", and "Fire and Ice".

A great and fun way of learning Italian!
The book is an ideal resource and learning tool for adults learning Italian. The author approaches the book using phonetics, pronunciation and importantly grammar. The book is divided into chapters visiting, traveling and living in Italy. And another chapter with exercises to test and further consolidate your knowledge.
Finally the last chapter involves recommendations of resources and planning your journey learning Italian. Suggestions making of other books, audio and movies to enhance your language learning experience. Lastly the book has a quick reference handbook for those sentences and words you need in a hurry.
I enjoyed this audiobook because it is hearing and using your listening skills in learning the language. This is where learning from a written book has some downfalls. You can hear the ways the words are pronounced with audiobooks and it helps you understand the context the phrases are used. I found I can increase or decrease the speed you hear the phrases which is helpful when listening in real situations. The book also contains bonus resources and materials for free.
I would recommend this book.

Excellent Book for Language Learners
I speak Spanish with an intermediate level of fluency, and I have enjoyed reading books that had tidbits of other latin-based languages or watching Spanish/French/Italian movies with subtitles. Interested in broadening my language comprehension, I tried this Italian Phrasebook to see if I would like learning with it. I originally downloaded the audiobook, but I do better learning visually, so I purchased the ebook to supplement. Let me tell you that I honestly loved listening to this audiobook. It is so much easier to learn a new language when you hear it spoken from a native speaker, and combined with reading the ebook at the same time, I am pleased to find that I am learning Italian!! It is so cool to recognize many of the same or similar words as Spanish because of the Latin-based language. It is the same with French as several words are close enough to make out even if they are spelled and pronounced differently.
The narrator of this audiobook has a very pleasant sounding voice and a beautiful accent when speaking English. I could listen to him for hours, and I literally have done so. It probably helps that I took three semesters of Spanish in college, but I am loving learning Italian using this audiobook.
I highly recommend this audiobook, and I also recommend getting the ebook to read along if you are a visual learner like myself.

A nice introduction to Italian
A nice introduction to Italian, this audiobook aims to bring you up to speed on the basics of speaking Italian over a suggested 30 day period.
It starts with an overview of the alphabet, and then go over basic grammars and more advanced words and sentences. The book is sprinkled with examples and all words and phrases are immediately translated to english.
The narrator has a very good Italian pronounciation (being an italian that is probably to be expected) but sometimes is a bit difficult to undertstand on certain english translations - but for the most part his english prononciation is very serviceable.
