Reece Donelly’s days are full of last-minute jobs for clients. Her job allows her to meet her grandmother’s dear friend Gertrude Cressvine, but strange occurrences at Gert’s farm draws Reece into a perplexing mystery. What is making the uncanny sounds at night and is killing livestock and pets? Why would it leave a dead rabbit on Gert’s back porch?

Jackson departs town abruptly without telling Reece. Worried, she looks for clues to his whereabouts, but Jackson’s girlfriend, Rhonda, thwarts her at every turn.
