Fun Read, But Wanted More Pirates

This is an enjoyable and fun short book. The author does a great job setting the scene and describing the inhabitants of the island setting. Having vacationed to the Outer Banks area and having lived in coastal southern Virginia, I was very happy with the setting and tone of the book. However, as a personal preference, I don't need to know exactly what every person is wearing before getting into the action of the scene. I prefer it when an author allows me to picture a character based on the things they do and say. The plot is fun and interesting. I wish the author would have included more action, haunts, and mystery. At times it felt a bit like a travelogue as we followed the protagonist couple on every step of their vacation even if it was something that did not push the plot forward. I wanted more pirates, maybe even a flash back scene. SPOILER: I was confused at one point when the MC rented a safe deposit box to hold the coin, then in the next scene had the coin in her purse. Maybe I missed something. END SPOLIER: To be clear, I enjoyed the story and don't want my thoughts to take away from that. Take this one with you to the beach for a fun get away.

The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

The Case of the Cursed Coin

I enjoyed this story in one sitting. Ginger and Beau spend their vacation at their favorite destination, Chincoteague Island. While enjoying their time, Ginger discovers a rare coin. Chaos ensues including a visit by a ghostly pirate who wants his coin back.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fun tale of pirates and hauntings.
