Loved the book, the narrator is horrible

I loved this book, however, Anne Flosnik's narration was so annoying it was almost difficult to listen to. I wish I would have just read an e-book version.

I cannot for the life of me understand why authors keep picking Anne Flosnik to narrate books. Most of her reviews are the same as mine. She ruins otherwise decent and good books.

Loved the book

Here is a case when the narrator ruined the book. I would choose to read the book myself rather than purchase another narrated by this narrator. Anne Flosnik overacts, especially during love scenes, I found myself fastforwarding through each scene where things got a little bit exciting, and I found myself wishing there were an option to return the book by the first chapter.

Worst Narrator Ever

Karen Robards writes great books, but Anne Flosnik is the worst narrator ever. Her accent is awful and makes me want to turn off the book as soon as she starts. I have listened to other books narrated by her and had the same reaction. Much better to have it read with no accent at all rather than this one! From here on, I will buy ebooks when she is the narrator rather than listen to another one!

Story pretty good, narration pretty disappointing

I enjoyed the first book in this series and so, purchased this one. I liked Scandalous much better. In this one Ms. Robards gets pretty redundant in the telling the story. e.g. yes, yes I know, even though Hugh just shaved Claire can see the beginnings of stubble - he is such a manly man. I got it the first couple of three times I heard it. I found myself telling my iPod "I know, I know already. Let's move on!" Unfortunately, I tended to do it out loud and my dear hubby kept laughing at me. As for the story itself, it is pretty far fetched even for this genre which I usually adore so that wasn't disappointing overly much.

However, the narration was incredibly disappointing! Ms. Flosnik sounded breathy, overly excited and dramatic through out which I found irritating and distracting. I very much enjoyed her narration of To Beguile a Beast so this was really a disappointment. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and blame the producer/director of this recording for it's overly dramatic style.

Excellent!!!

I did not read this trilogy in sequence but I am glad I left this one for last. It was exhilarating, sit on the edge of your seat, great!!!!!!! I was mesmerized from beginning to the end. I absolutely love the narrator Anne Flosnik, she is one of my favorite narrator and did a wonderful job with the different characters. Karen Robards is a very good authur also.

Grabs your attention from the beginning

This book grabbed and held onto my attention. Of course, like all of this genre, it is somewhat predictable, but so what? It is a very well told story, with a fiery protagonist. I disagree with another reviewer, Anne Flosnik does a wonderful job. She does have a melodramatic voice, this is a melodramatic genre! I love her accent, and the way she is able to give each character his or her own voice. I will choose books I may not have chosen if she is narrating.

Best book of the series

The lead male in this book is a complex but believable character. The plot is action packed and the scenarios are plausible. The heat between the couple is written so well that, although the love (sex) scene happens early in the novel, the tension never seems forced. The reader can easily understand what these characters want and you, the reader/listener, like them enough as people that you want them to have it! Very entertaining. Will purchase more by this author/narrator!

Better narration would make this a can't put down

This is the second book in the series and was very much like the first....storylines very similar. However, I still enjoyed. Ann Flosnik is a good narrator with some stories and does a pretty good job with female characters. She is not good with male voices.....especially strong males. Her voice for the male lead character is poor at best in this book. That certainly diminished my enjoyment of this book.
Beth, the youngest sister aggravated the devil out of me in the first book. In this book, I was even more aggravated. I just wanted to strangle her. Because of that, I"m reluctant to listen to her story.
