Story
Across the bottom of the screen the ticker tape announced in large black letters 'Governor Reynolds Murdered'. Apparently his body had been discovered earlier that morning, lying in his garage. He had been shot twice. One shot to the upper chest, the other hitting his shoulder. 'Police believe that the weapon used was a 38 revolver,' the reporter said. Kendall froze. Anthony Shaw had also been killed by a 38 calibre bullet. Kendall was not quite sure of what it all meant. What connection was there between Anthony Shaw, and the State Governor, and the business mogul, Ian Duncan. And what about Senator Mackenzie? Where did he fit in? And who or what was Latimer?

Story
The Marinski Affair began as a dull, mundane case involving a missing husband. Okay, so he was a rich missing husband, but he was nonetheless, still only a missing husband. The case soon developed into one involving robbery, kidnapping, blackmail, and murder. But was there really a kidnapping? All is not as it seems. Tom Kendall, private detective, had the task of solving the mystery. He was usually pretty good at solving puzzles, but this one was different, somehow. It wasn’t that he didn’t have any of the pieces. It was just that none of the pieces seemed to fit together.

A compelling Christian fiction about one little boy, A.J., who relies on his angel, Demetri, to answer his prayers. Demetri runs into some evil turbulence on the way to deliver a prayer to heaven. This story is one we all can relate to as we pray to God for solutions and trust in the divine to hear our plea. Heaven, Hades, and the struggle against angels and demons are all depicted in this message about spiritual warfare.

Story
Depression is something that everyone faces in life and can be very difficult to deal with and cope. I authored this book as a collection of uplifting inspirational messages to help that cause. In the narration, you will find poems and metaphors that I wrote as I faced my own demons and challenges in life. Sometimes, with tears in my eyes I would pour the words out and these stories would emerge. Day by day, I rose above the depression that has enveloped many aspects of my younger life.

Fritz Marschall knew that neither he, nor his friend, should really have been there. They, like many others before them, had been attracted to the lake by the many rumors that had been circulating. He thought of the endless stories there had been, of treasures sunken in or buried around the lake. He recalled the stories of the lake being used to develop torpedoes and rockets during the war. Looking out across the dark water, he wondered what secrets were hidden beneath the surface.

Story
‘To make a killing in the City’ is a phrase often used within the financial world, to indicate making a large profit on investments, or through dealings on the stock market--the bigger the profit, the bigger the killing. However, Tom Kendall, a private detective, on vacation in London, has a different kind of killing in mind when he hears about the death of one of his fellow passengers who traveled with him on the plane from Miami. It was suicide apparently, a simple overdose of prescribed tablets. Kendall immediately offers his help to Scotland Yard. He is shocked when he is told his services will not be required. They can manage perfectly well without him, thank you.

love a strong heroine!
Iris was a black ops operator before that was ‘a thing’. In the days of horses, stage coaches and rustlers, Iris is an assassin/bounty hunter for an unknown government agency. Being one of the deadliest assassins comes with a price...Iris suffers with guilt and depression for each soul that she’s forced to take. Then she meets Garrett, a small town doctor, and the chemistry and spiritual connection that they share is like none other. With a crazed, obsessed madman after her, and threatening those that she loves, Iris must leave them behind. Will Iris and Garrett find their way back to each other before the darkness takes over Iris’s soul? Great story with a bad@$$ heroine. Highly recommend this book. I was so excited to listen to this book it sounded great and listening to the sample I thought the narration was going to be easy to listen to. I was sad to find out that at points the narrator was just not suited for this book and at points it was just too much to listen to. I kept going back but never felt like the narration did justice for the story or its characters.

Amazing Story with unique heroine
Loved this story and it's array of characters. Iris had so many facets to her personality. Every twist and turn to the story had me eager to know what was going to happen next. The portrayal of the villain made him someone you truly wanted to hate. The other characters were amazing with their quirky and unique personalities and I enjoyed seeing the intertwining of their relationships. I loved it so much I bought the kindle version so I can read it again. I took 1 star off overall, solely due to the narration. I personally did not feel it did justice to some of the characters. At times it was painful to listen to and had to take a break. Next time I would read the book instead of listening.

Enjoyable Listen 😄
It took me a while to get into this story, but once I did, I enjoyed it. I liked the historical backdrop with a strong spunky female lead, which is something we don't see very often in stories. It's an interesting story with elements of fantasy and romance along with a bit of mystery and angst. I'm looking forward to more books by this author. 😊

Love it!
What a great female lead. If I didn’t know that woman really worked for the Pinkerton agency in the late 19th century I don’t think I would’ve read this book. Since it was consistent with history I read on and was so glad I did. Not only is Iris feisty she’s been through it before and knows all the right things to say not that she likes talking to people or people in general, but when she meets the doctor see you speechless. After he comes to the rescue in the bar when they are dying to burn her at the state for being a witch he didn’t have to help her when she gets injured is when he becomes hands on helping her get better that is. Will Iris decide to settle down with the doctor even like her? These are all great questions and I’ll answer in this book. I love the iris she’s so freaking awesome! I recommend this to anyone who likes me a lot of broad books wow West romances and even yes regular historical romances. There’s something in here for the romance thing that most books in this genre don’t offer and it’s a legitimate independent 19 century Victorian woman. A lot of romance books have a implausible female leads that is not the case in this book and it made me love it so much more.
