A well laid out and very good read; it unfortunate to learn how many junctions were missed and how viewpoints are so skewed

This seems to be a standalone story and one that repeats itself throughout history; aggression in the name of defense.
The book provides a well laid out chronology that shows how Iran got to where it is today.

The reader has a clear voice in English but obviously speaks Farsi, too. His pronunciation of terms is a delight.
the book teaches a lot of important information on Iran's political and religious background, I am better able to grasp the dynamics in Iranian policy and decision making. A fine history.

Appreciate focus on NatSec policy development.

Not an exhaustive history but also not just a narrative tale. Hit the key points and experiences that underlie the thinking of the power players in a way accessible to western audiences.

There were times when the narrator said names too fast and it was hard for me to look up but that is a problem of my own limited hearing and the audiobook format.

Considering the current situation not sure it could be more prescient.
