Publisher's summary

Cara always knew that life on planet L'eihr would be an adjustment. With Aelyx, her L'eihr boyfriend, back on Earth working to mend the broken alliance between their two planets, Cara is left to fend for herself at a new school, surrounded by hostile alien clones. Even the weird dorm pet hates her. Things start to look up when Cara is appointed human representative to a panel preparing for a human colony on L'eihr. A society that melds their two cultures is a place where Cara and Aelyx could one day make a life together. But with L'eihr leaders balking at granting even the most basic freedoms, Cara begins to wonder if she could ever be happy on this planet.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Aelyx finds himself in a full-scale PR campaign to improve human-L'eihr relations. Humans don't know that their very survival depends on this alliance: Only Aelyx's people have the technology to fix the deadly contamination in the global water supply that human governments are hiding. Yet despite their upper hand, the leaders of his world suddenly seem desperate to get humans on their side, and they hardly bat an eye when extremists make multiple attempts on Aelyx's life. The Way clearly needs humans' help, but with what? And what will they ask for in return?

Good second book

Not a bad YA book. I liked the first book a bit better than the second, but this one held its own and was reasonably entertaining.

Entertaining and leaves me wanting more

I can't wait for the next book. This book has a better place than book 1, which I feel dragged a bit. Enjoyable, believable and exciting.

Loved it!

I was so happy to read this! Loved it almost as much as Alienated! Although I dont like how they both ended in a similar way.

another good story

Well paced story ad expands the plot and characters. Surprised the story did seem like what Cara and Aelyx might do after escape at end of book one. The following of Cara stay on the L'eihr home plant, does seem realistic and not over blown drama to sell books. There is a lot of drama in the last third or so of the book when Cara returns and things are getting ready for the cliff hanger before book three.

Things seem to flow well with only a few bumps and not too much or too little excitement/drama. Nothing seemed forced or just there to get the word count in. Only small complaint is that Aelyx is still too L'eihr and less human, but does some how work that Cara became more L'eihr than Aelyx came human.

And we do have a silent hidden plotline with a new enemy the Aribo, so my gut was right more to story than L'eihr where revealing in book one.

I wish...

I wish that this story hadn't had so much talk of sex. It ruined it for me. The story line was cool and I enjoyed it until it started in with the sex and swearing. I just don't like reading that kind of stuff.
