the narrator is awful

was really hoping to enjoy this book.. but I couldn't make it through half the first chapter without rewinding at least 3 times to understand what this girl is saying.. she fumbles through sentences , has poor skills annunciating punctuation and has too many misplaced pauses for a point to be made clearly. if this book was recommended to you I'd say get the ebook and hard pass on the audiobook...

Terrible. Don't waste your money.

The narrator sounds like a prissy robot. Literally the worst narration I've ever heard. I don't think I can finish the book, which is also poorly written.

Intuitive Eating

This book essentially teaches you how to eat like a well adjusted adult. Since so many of us have a warped relationship to food, this is definitely a revolutionary system. It is repetitive, like all self-help books, but that's not a flaw - it's just a teaching technique. This is the anti-diet book, and that is a blessed t

Recovering food control freak

I've really enjoyed reading this book, it's evidenced everything my nan taught me about food and I'm finally starting to feel a bit better about my relationship with food. I've controlled my food intake like some sort of weird prison guard since my teens and it feels refreshing to give myself permission to concentrate on something else for a change, I'll keep experiencing food as I think I've got a lot of weird food rules to challenge and then I'll start thinking about looking after the food pennies like healthier choices and I'll let the pounds take care of themselves. I bought this book so that I can pass on healthy food values to my son and hopefully future him from eating disorders or the food police as it'll leave more time for him to explore the world.

Wonderful perspective on food, eating and dieting

The food industry pushes unhealthful food (sugar in particular - the tobacco of the 21st century) and then the dieting industry compounds the problem by selling hocus pocus to “address” the result. Vicious cycle. This book offers an alternative path.

I like it

This book has changed my life for the better. For the past year and a half I have been dieting far below my recommended calorie intake. I decided to try this book and method because I was constantly tired, cranky, and generally unhappy. It took about two weeks of eating intuitively and I started to notice how much better I felt. My cravings changed and my interests outside of food have come back. I look forward to living with this style of eating for the rest of my life.

It's help you understand your eating

The thing I really enjoyed about this book was the first section. Get rid of the idea that there are good and bad foods. Eat what you want when you are actually hungry (not emotionally craving). If you want ice cream, eat ice cream. If you want brownies, eat brownies. Once you do this for a period of time, these once "bad" foods lose their appeal. When you actively think about how you feel after eating these foods, you realize that healthier foods make you feel significantly better.

Dieting is the Problem.

This book has literally changed my life. I found that I can measure and record every bite that goes into my mouth, carefully avoiding things I really like, OR I can eat what I want, stopping when I'm no longer hungry, and eat anything I want. What freedom!! Life is so much easier. I actually weigh about 3 lbs. less than I did when I was driving myself crazy. I think dieting is the problem and not the solution.

Life-changing book!

Very easy to read with down-to-earth examples and stories. It has changed my relationship with food for good, it has strengthened my self-esteem and has made me value and honor my body. I have stopped all bingeing episodes like magic, and my anxiety has disappeared.
