加賀藩の歴代藩主は、文化を保護し、伝統を継承することに熱心で、金箔や加賀友禅、毛針や九谷焼など多くの伝統工芸が、現在まで受け継がれています。
また、金沢は戦争の被害に遭わなかったことから、江戸時代の町並みが今も残ります。芸妓が行き交う茶屋街や、江戸情緒たっぷりの武家屋敷などが、散策コースとして人気です。
2015年に北陸新幹線が開業し、東京から金沢まで最短2時間半で行けるようになりました。そのため金沢は今、日本でもっとも注目を浴びている観光地の一つです。
