Fun story with good characters.

What made the experience of listening to Interview with a Ghost the most enjoyable?

The narrator made the story more fun by helping the listener relate to the various characters.

No........ but she is talented and anyone would enjoy her performance.

Ghosts can really mess with your life...:)

What would you do if you went to invite your favourite writer to a party and found him dead? And what if his ghost then followed you around, obviously wishing you to find his killer? That's the dilemma Piper has to deal with in this delightfully funny, humorous, entertainig "ghostly" cozy mystery:)

The plot is really fast, with Piper and George making a wonderful couple of friends (beyond the grave:)) and private sleuths who get Piper into a few corners before she finally discovers the truth. There are quite a few suspects, all with plausible motifs to kill, quite a few good twists in the investigation... and there's the friend, the dog and the possible future boyfriend:) The last three bring in so much fun to the story that I laughed here and there, following their antics:)
The best recommendation for the book, though? It kept me listening in one go till very late at night (or rather early morning, I should say - it's a good thing it's Saturday today and I could sleep till noon:))

Ms Hoffman is a new narrator for me, so I had no particular expectations, and I'm glad to say that I liked her interpretation of the book a lot. She reads at a good pace, does voices really well, both male and female, and makes the story come to life wonderfully :)

Piper and the Lion

Imagine yourself invited to visit your absolutely favorite author. When you knock on the door--it opens. But there are no lights on. Whassup, you are asking yourself as you stand in the dark hallway. And then, suddenly, someone rushes past you and shoves you down. And then? And then? A delightful whodunnit with a number of surprising twists even as the suspects are all gathered together (tradition!) . . . in an airplane (not so usual) . . . for the final denouement.

All of this is delightfully performed by narrator Marie Hoffman who perfectly pipes Piper and covers a variety of other voices with panache.

Blah blah blah

This story dragged so much I could not even finish it. For a start the narrative is to blah no excitement, no zing at any point. I stayed with it more then half way and it continued to just be blah. The story itself could have been fantastic. But it just failed to deliver. Perhaps the written version was better? I received this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review. Honestly read it and skip the audio version. And I rarely say that. 👋🏻pass

Not for me.

I noticed a lot of people liked this book but it is not for me. I did not find it as funny as I expected. I also found that the story did not grip me and I started to loose interest.

Funny...Clean

The book is great...it is funny and clean so my grandchild can listen to it. It is about a writer that is murdered. Piper is to interview the dead man..George. No one knows she can see dead people. So who does she see when she enters the house the George. So she wants to help and George goes to her house to hang. She goes to the funeral and meets George's family. She also meets a boy who has potential to be a boyfriend. It's a great little mystery. The narrator is fantastic. She did an excellent job!!! All she wanted was an interview.

When Piper arrives at George's house, she got more than she bargained for. First she gets knocked down, then she gets arrested.

When a famous crime reporter arrives and asks for her help to solve the crime, things become even stranger.

The story is fun and full of twists as Piper helps to solve the crime.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This is a great ghost haunting book. A writer is murdered and hangs around our gals house, she is the only one that sees her. She is the one that found him also. She had an appt. to interview him when she found him. There are all kinds of crazy things happen in the book. Crazy as in funny as long as I didn't have to go through them, lol. It is a good clean and fun book and I enjoyed it. I like ghost stories and this one was not scary and it would be just right for those that want to read a mystery with a ghost! Good ending. Very touching story. I had never read this author's books before but I am hooked now. She has a way of making the characters seem real and have a lot of heart. Even those that alive anymore!
The narrator was just great! Smooth, good voices, kept emotions up or down as needed. Great job!

Different

I bought this book by mistake. Since I bought it I decided to listen to it. The mystery was ok but Piper was annoying and immature. The plat was beyond belief. I did managed to finish the book but I won't get another one.

Great Read

Interview with a Ghost was a great read by Angela Pepper. Piper wanted to meet her favorite author, but unfortunately she was a day late to meet him. Piper shows up to his house for an interview and he is dead when she arrives. She finds herself in the middle of the scandal when a celebrity crime reporter hires her as an apprentice. Piper finds herself in a dangerous situation when a relationship blossoms with a murder suspect. I enjoyed this read and can't wait to read more by the author.

Enjoyable

The narrator was slightly on the serious side for such a fun, lighthearted cozy. I had to get used to her almost weary voice. But she spoke in a very clear manner and it was easy to follow. But since Piper is very young, I’d have liked a younger, peppier voice. But it was good, solid.

I liked the story. A little slow at times, for example, the way she kept arguing with herself about telling Otis the truth went on too long, but it was definitely enjoyable. And interesting. And intriguing!

Piper could be more likeable, I would have liked more feelings from her to get to know her better, but it was Winnie who I really didn’t like, at first. But both of them got better as the book proceeded. Especially Piper. I came to care about her and what happened to her.

A pleasant story! And everything came together very nicely. Loved the ending. I really loved the ending! Very satisfying.
