Not a true IF guidebook, certainly not "Complete"

This book provides recipes and suggestions for a low calorie diet rather than true IF. In order for you to get the benefits related to IF, it has been shown that you need to truly fast (eat essentially 0 calories during your fasting window). If fact the studies mentioned by the author did exactly that...restricted all feeding during a set window. The diet mentioned here does works because it reduces calories. But the benefits of IF and insulin sensitivity, based on studies, will not be obtained for the long term by doing this diet. Also another point is that the author says to avoid refined carbs which is true. But in many of the recipes there is sugar added. This is in many ways worse. The insulin spikes from this alone are huge. Dr. Jason Fung's book on Obesity is a great reference for fasting. I was really hoping that this book provided more information on IF for me, especially given the review, but it's not a true guide for the IF lifestyle.

Wow. 1/4 cup of salt. Way too much for any meal

He does like to use 1/4cup of every thing. Especially 1/4 cup of salt or 1/4 cup of pepper. Really! Lots of sugar in lots of recipes

RECIPES WAY OFF IN MEASUREMENTS

numerous recipes called for 'one quarter cup salt'... pretty sure either the guy reading read wrong or no one tested these recipes. One egg with a quarter cup salt sounds pretty off to me.

Andrew Johnson has succeeded to explain the science of both weight gain and how to lose it to me. I’m now losing weight gradually and steadily and way more power and ironically am resting more satisfying!!!

Full of great information

Covers why diets work and why they fail. My one point I bothered with is that with intermittent fasting the author said it's likely to lose tissue when it's well known that is the last thing that the body would use up. Maybe the writer could change his statement to clarify what he meant.

Highly recommended

What I enjoy most about this audiobook is how two-thirds of it is all about meal plans and recipes, which I get is most helpful when working to make sure I’m nutritionally sound while avoiding caloric intake. The recipes include all types of foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as mouth-watering close-ups of meals, too

Educational

This audiobook is an easily audible and had a lot of good info on the types of fasting, amazing of which are a lot more advanced than the others. Great for novices like me. I'm just starting my journey - wish me luck!
