Intercessors: Types and Functions

Through intercession, we can connect intimately with God's heart, aligning our desires with his perfect will. Interceding for individuals, communities, and nations cultivates compassion, empathy, and selflessness. Through intercessory prayer, we acknowledge God's authority and sovereignty. We seek His guidance and intervention as we surrender to His divine purposes. Intercession is also a weapon of spiritual warfare. Our prayers against evil, injustice, and oppression are not fought with weapons of this world but with God's power (Ephesians 6:12). The Holy Spirit aids us in weakness. We don't know what God wants us to pray. But the Holy Spirit prays through us with groans that cannot be expressed in words.” (Romans 8:26)
