This book was enchanting and kept me interested the whole way through. It gave me great joy to share in the author’s depiction of her life, and the events that occurred throughout her journey. What a beautiful soul.

Entertaining + Insightful Read for Healing

I met Nancy in the Soul Empowering Class she mentions in the book, so I was delighted to read her story about how she became the Instigator of Joy I knew. There is no spiritual-whitewashing in these pages; in this enchanting, entertaining book there is life with its highs and lows and everything in-between. From her hardships and struggles (which you learn money is no safe-harbor from these universal experiences), she shares the golden gems she gleaned along the way and real-life, practical ways to become your own fairy godmother. For everyone, but especially those who have a less-than-ideal relationship with their parents, I highly recommend this book as a tool for exploration and healing. Note: I listened to the Audible version and it was a delight. There was nothing to trigger my misophonia; the whole production was very well done.

A Beautiful Memoir Which Left me Joyous!

Nancy Illman's memoir is three parts memoir, and one part self-help--And I mean this in the best possible way! By learning of Nancy's past and everything she overcame, against the backdrop of the vivid world she created with her clear and detailed imagery (it was like I was watching a movie), she then had the authority in the last part of the book to become an Instigator of Joy, a healer and a teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and was engaged from page one. (I also loved the choice of using "mommy" and "daddy" throughout the book when describing her parents from her young perspective.) I can't wait for the follow-up book, and the screenplay adaptation!
