  • Summary

  • In 1973 Hell came home and invaded the body of a young girl. This is the story of a movie and its makers. It's a tale of dark and light, of loss and love. A story of faith and fury, of causes and curses, of horrors real and imagined, of unbridled ego and brute force filmmaking. It's the movie critics called "religious pornography" and "occultist claptrap." The movie that left audiences...hysterical. Decades later, it remains perhaps the most frightening movie we will ever see. From Wondery, this is a seven-part deep dive inspired by the story behind an unforgettable, classic movie. This is...Inside The Exorcist

this was a total waste of time

This was a total waste of time if you want the accurate information watch the documentary. The house where the little boy was possessed still stands but this claims it burnt to the ground?

Cash Grab

This a weak dramatization inspired by the real events that lead to writing and production of an amazing movie. This is not a true story. This is only inspired by a great piece of media and trying to make money off of someone else’s work and creativity. This podcast is a leach trying to suck money out of the Exorcist. And everyone involved should be ashamed.

Fascinating Look at the Making of the Film

This is an excellent podcast about the making of the Exorcist. It follows William Peter Blatty, William Friedkin and the boy the original case was based on. A number of interesting, funny and sad experiences happy to each and the production. The story of what happened to the boy is frightening, just as the unexplained occurrences during the making of the film. Two funny anecdotes are Friedkin on the way to the Oscars and their car breaks down and Friedkin laughing at a script that was presented to his production company he thought was ridiculous and turned down, Star Wars. He was shocked by Star Wars success. A riveting listen with a frightening ending.
