From the creators of Inside Psycho and Inside the Exorcist comes a new story about a classic movie and its inspirations. A tale of a modest thriller that became an ordeal and then a disaster and then a phenomenon and then a classic. A story of one man, a fresh-faced, inexperienced director who nearly wrecked his promising career and became the most important filmmaker of our era. This is Inside JAWS.©2018 Wondery (P)2018 Wondery Arte Ciencias Sociales

I really enjoy these Inside films series from Wondery. There are informative and entertaining and contain a number of insider details. This edition focuses on Jaws and begins with the young Steven Spielberg as well as the shark attack incident that helped to inspire the film. After the book became a bestseller the film rights were won by Zanuck and Brown and a young Spielberg hired to direct. The problematic shoot, the shark that wouldn't work, actor rivalries and shooting delays caused headaches for many. It was all worth it when Jaws became the highest grossing film of all time in 1975, a title it held for two years until a little film named Star Wars dethroned it. I'm looking forward to the next edition for Star Wars.

I really love this because I grew up in Newport Beach / Corona Del Mar and used to go to the beach every day as a kid then Jaws came out. OMG. I have never seen the beaches so empty, not that any of us ever saw a shark, ever ha.
but yes it did change my life forever and it was so wonderful to hear the funny stories the scary stories especially about all the sharks in the water and the stunt person for Richard Dreyfus going into the cage and it pulled down the cage and the crane and the boat and everything as they pulled this guy one second later it would have been too late and he would have been dead. the backstory I really love of the original story but I already knew most of that I didn't know about the USS Indianapolis the true story of all of it I do know that was one of my favorite parts of the movie however what a great actor. anyway I'm glad that the "shark did not work" LOL because it wouldn't have been the movie it was. we wouldn't be out swimming and looking down towards our toes all the time waiting for something big to come up. this proves once again that it's not so much what you can see that should scare you. it's what you cannot see. thank you for a very enjoyable listen. I listen to all your Wondry presents.. they're truly wonderful. keep up the good work and I'll keep listening next one is about The Exorcist 😱
