The true story of Michael Coll, an Irish child born in a mother/baby home in Stranorlar, County Donegal, Ireland, in 1944, and how his journey lead him to be eventually adopted by an Irish-American family. Inmate 651 reveals the cruel and frustrating world of the mother baby homes in Ireland that treated some of the most vulnerable members of Irish soceity like commodities to be bought and sold. It's a secretive world that lasted for decades and is still not well understood.
