Intriguing and Captivating!

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson takes the complex subject of astrophysics and breaks it down into understandable concepts that peeks your interest to a point that learning is fun! This is just a short snippet of "The Inexplicable Universe: Unsolved Mysteries" from The Great Courses which includes this lecture and 5 others, all around 30 minutes long.

Extremely interesting!

Any additional comments?

Very short but a fascinating glimpse into the field of astrophysics. It's easy to see why Professor deGrasse Tyson is so popular - he breaks the subject down into layman's terms which makes a very complex subject much more accessible. His passion for his field makes him a captivating speaker. I will be moving on to his other lectures, enjoyed this immensely.

great short lecture

This is a wonderful short lecture by Neil Tyson that got me motivated to buy the Great Courses series it is taken from. This is a lecture that should appeal to all lifelong learners, even ones with little science background.

My man Neil deGrasse Tyson

Always enjoyed Neil and all his work. Doesn't skip a beat here, looking forward to future work by our very own Mr Tyson!

Well worth the price (free)

This is short but much less trivial than I thought it would be.
Only 32 minutes so what is covered is covered briefly.

Briefly covered are several unsolved problems of modern cosmology.

The first issue (The Pioneer Deceleration Anomaly) was resolved after this production and was found to be anisotropic radiation pressure of heat loss from the radioisotope generators. Thus no longer a mystery.

Dark Matter and Dark Energy are discussed. Tyson points out these are somewhat meaningless names as we don't actually know much of anything about these effects. He suggests calling them Fred and Barney.

This was short, out of date, and not very enlightening, but not at all bad

The narration was completely clear and high energy, but was a little too bombastic for my taste.
