Publisher's summary

She thought her life had changed in the blink of an eye the moment she came home to see her father strapped to a chair, a gun being held to his head. It was my life that changed that day, not hers. The blood of my enemy ran through her veins, and no matter how much she wanted to save me, she never would have. I am a monster. I can't be saved. I would consume the world in a blaze of fire before my need for vengeance was ever fulfilled.

Doubts ruin, truths hurt, and just one lie can destroy an entire army. If being the king has taught me anything, it's that everyone desires the truth, but no one wants to be honest. The monster inside of me has been set free, and I will stop at nothing to destroy my enemies. I am a living, breathing, killing machine.... This war has just begun.

Contains mature themes.

Lucy Malone Narration

I'm sorry, but Lucy Malone's voice is the whiniest. If not for the terrific voice of Sean Crisden, I wouldn't bother to finish listening. They dual narrate this series, which I like; however, I know to fast forward through her voice over chapters.

Inevitable

This is book 2 of the Kingpin Love Affair and the conclusion to a lackluster mafia love story. The narration can make or break a book, in this case the narration didn’t enhance the listening experience. Is it worth the credit? Thankfully this book was free but if I had to pay I would say No.

Wow

This is the second book of the Kings series and sooo good. I love Bree and Alzero’s chemistry which is even stronger in the second book. The secrets and lies along with the twists and turns I definitely never seen the end coming! Beautiful, highly recommend

Lackluster ending

The story had promise but the plot was all over the place. The plot twists didn’t really make much sense either.

Story filled with twists and turns.

I almost forgot to read this 2nd book in the series! Zerro is brutal but tamed by his love and attraction for Bree.... there are lots of twists to the story. This story was better than the first book. I was on vacation and enjoyed the eventual HEA, unrealistic as it is! Not worth a buy .... perhaps a credit, definitely a sale.

Meant to Be

Audio/book #2 picked up where book #1 ended. They had a rocky love story but it ended with a HEA. Loved the male narrator’s voice. I am happy that I did continue with the series.

What a way to end

Once again I am blown away by the performances. Can I just have Sean call me every morning to say time to get up and good morning!! Such a well weaved storyline that had me in tears with Zerro's selfless act.

Check it out- you'll be glad you did.

Could not even finish it

I don’t often leave reviews but since I couldn’t even finish the book, felt like I had to. It was as if this second book was written by a completely different person than the front book. The first book kept my interest (even though the narrators were not my favorite) and I was keen to hear the second in the series. This book, however, had every cliche you can think of. Her liver killed her father for revenge, her father wasn’t her dad and worked for the FBI, the lover’s best friend turned out to be her brother, her captor just happened to be indebted to her brother and so let her go, etc. It was all to coincidental to feel like an actual plot. I think they wrote the first book but didn’t really know what the ending would be or how to resolve anything so it just all seemed to unreal. For example, at the end of the first book, Mac shot zero and said the FBI was on the way to take him into custody and he was taking Bree to f*ck her but when you start the second book, the FBI had never come, Bree was being held captive by someone else, and she had not been touched by Mac but there was no real explanation and I keeps asking myself why? Like if he really was the king and this big mafia boss (like you read in other books) where we’re all his men and security? Did he not have anyone besides his driver who was loyal that he could trust? That makes me like him even less. Anyway, I am not finishing this series.
