This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Lexi Ryan brings listeners a sexy NFL player who's pulled out all the stops for one more chance with the love of his life.

I have four months to make my wife fall in love with me or let her go forever.

I loved Bailey Green long before she watched her loser ex take his last breaths. I held her while they lowered his coffin into the ground, stilled her shaking hands when the nightmares would tear her from sleep. I waited for her through her grief. But while she was always willing to let me in her bed, she refused to let me in the one place I longed to be - her heart.

Tired of playing second string to a dead man, I let her go. I moved to Florida to begin my NFL career and tried to pretend my perfect life didn't leave me empty. I'd almost given up. Until one drunken night in Vegas, we stumbled down the aisle and said, "I do".

In exchange for the divorce she wants so badly, she's agreed to remain my wife for four months. She has no idea the favors I've called in or the lies I've told to get her here, but if I succeed, none of that matters.

My secrets always seemed justified, but Bailey has her own - secrets that explain why she always pushed me away, secrets that make me wonder if I should have let her. Now we're in too deep and I might lose the only girl I've ever loved and the best friend I've ever had.

In Too Deep is a sexy and emotional novel intended for mature listeners. It's the fifth book in the world of the Blackhawk Boys, but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Football. Secrets. Lies. Passion. These boys don't play fair. Which Blackhawk Boy will steal your heart?

Favorite Blackhawk Boy

I couldn't wait to get to Mason and Bailey's story since book 1 with Arrow & Mia's story and I always enjoyed the glimpses into their lives throughout everyone else's books too. While everyone had their own rough patches and stories it was truly heartbreaking and endearing how these two kept trying to fight for 4 years and they were finally able to let go of their secrets and move forward to get their Happily Ever After.

Change it up a little

I read the first book in the series and really didn’t like it. After the reviews of the rest of the series I thought I would give this one a shot. I mean I thought the story line would change up. Bailey and Mason were cute in the first book. Apparently not. This is about self sacrifice and martyrdom...the same as the first book. Every character falls on the sword and lives in torment for years. At the same time the other characters do the same and they all live in misery. No one is happy as they all are living with their secrets covering up similar “crimes”.
If these people just trusted and loved one another just to have a conversation then everything would have been just fine. It is like a really bad soap opera. Way too much drama. If these characters loved each other the way they say that they do then they never would have gotten here. The entire book is just whining about their guilt. There is no trust or confidence in any of them. There is no humor or lightness. Why do they even love each other? They certainly are attracted physically but there are barely any true conversations. It is just sex and guilt for their self sacrifice over trying to save the other one from pain. The cover up bringing YEARS of hopelessness/misery.
Also, who are these “bad boys”??? Seriously??? They are super good looking athletic college kids and now NFL players. However, they are always backing up and concerned with their friends love life. They are quite the sensitive group of “bad boys”. Men just don’t act like these guys.
Also, I only read two in the series. Did the other books contain black outs as well? I have personally never blacked out but I have been around quite a few people who have. How, in both books, a major part of the story contains a convenient alcohol induced black out? Is this a theme in all her books?
If you like constant drama from easily cleared up miscommunications then this series is for you. I am going to stop here with these two as it is all I can take.

Conflicting feelings

I have conflicting feelings about this story. I can't believe the way the heroine treats the hero. She says she doesn't want to hurt him, but she could have saved them both heartache if only she would have been more open with him.

The story doesn't flow as smoothly as it could have. Of course they do get things straightened out at the end, but it felt a bit rushed after the rest had been drawn out.

The narration was good.

Overall 4.5 stars!

Performances by Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne - 5 stars each!

Favorite quote: “You are my forever.” ~Mason

Story - 4.5-5 stars!
Well, we finally learned what was really going on between these two. Poor Mason! He truly had the patience of a saint. It was a very satisfying conclusion to this couple's story arc and also for the series in general.

Loved it!!!

I couldn't stop the tears, I was amazed by how this book, of all books in the series affected me the most. I think this book was the best in the series by far.
