The narrator needs to work on his Southern accent.

I like the narrator in this series, but as a Southerner, his accent is lacking. I've never met anyone with an accent like that.

Raw & Real

I absolutely love Joe Picket so perhaps I am biased, but this is is a extremely well read audio book, the listener can hear the pain and emotion that only David Chandler can display. The story itself is intense, real and super raw. It is graphic and cutting edge. I highly recommend!! A++

A story of vengeance.

The thing I loved most about this story is that it involves someone coming to Saddlestring to get revenge on Joe for some things that happened in prior books, rather than the usual big environmental issues that involve government bureaucracy and things like that. The issues in this book are personal to Joe and his family. I've loved every book in this series thus far, and I think that this is one of the better ones. David Chandler continues to perfectly narrate this series, and his voices for Joe, Nate, and Sheridan are particularly fantastic.

Disturbing but necessary Pickett novel

This novel is the filled with the scariest characters of the series so far. Several times I thought, “I don’t need to be reading this” as it was more of a horror story. Still, it does add to the myth and humanity that is the Pickett family.
The ecological theme was also not as apparent but the short reference to water rights on private land was enlightening.
