Publisher's summary

Nia experienced déjà vu happening right before her eyes. Her gut begged her to run in the other direction, but the strong hold that love had on her kept her stuck in place.

East had truly been heaven-sent, and after the time they spent together, and the memories they made, she couldn’t see life without him. Dealing with a man in the streets was more than what these young girls posted on Instagram...the late nights and early mornings, missed calls, and phone going straight to voicemail. It was more than watching him stow funds away in a board under the floor, and it was beyond bailing him out of jail due to a petty charge. She wasn’t just laying down beside a local dope boy at night. No, those days were behind East. Once he reached higher heights and joined the ranks of the Who’s Who in the streets, the ones closest to him true colors were exposed. Her grandmother used to tell her, before she passed, that new levels brought new devils, and this was back in the '80s when she would tell Nia to watch the ones closest to her. For that very reason, she never hung with many people.

Nia kept a tight circle, and even the ones she considered “friends” didn’t know her every move. Nia believed in making moves in silence and allowing success to make the noise for her. She didn’t showboat, flex, boast, brag…none of that; it wasn’t in her to do so. Neither was it in East. He was the same way and of the exact same caliber. They were perfect together and still are, even though he’s fighting for his life...all because his “friend” couldn’t stomach to see him doing better than he....

In Love with a Brooklyn Thug 2 is the explosive sequel to Part I.

Narrator is horrible!!!

I don't understand how they allowed this book to come out with the Narrator talking the way that he did!

Narration is horrible

I listened to the book because I was already invested in the story line but the narrator did a horrible job. He rushed through the entire story and there were plenty of times that I couldn’t tell where when part of the story ended and another began. I’m not sure what all goes into recording but it seems as if the Author didn’t even preview this and have the narrator correct/improve his performance. The story is good and I wonder what Nia is hiding from her past and will her and East make it after the semi-break up they shared. Can’t wait for book 3 to come on audible and I hope it’s a different narrator.

Narrator

I like the characters and storyline but the narrator is horrible. I want a refund. I had to listen several times to the last chapters because the narrator doesn’t pause properly between characters.

Too fast!

I hate to criticize anyone too harshly but I do not believe this narrator should be in this profession. I literally felt tired just listening to him

Narrator Sucks

Great story but Jermaine read to fast and without any pitch or voice changes between between the characters.

Thank goodness for book one capturing my attention

I truly enjoyed the storyline itself. But the narration of this book was not nearly as good as book 1. And almost painful to listen to at some points. I prefer the characters to have individual voices and a lot more Emotions to the story.

How could the audiobook company let this get released.

The book is fine. But the readers lack of pause when parts of the story was changing drove me crazy.
But as every other review said the narrator needs help. I spent the whole book wondering what the criteria to be a narrator is; and why this company does not have a process of listening to the recording, coaching the reader, and editing the parts that are messed up.
