Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling series.

What family secrets are behind two disappearances? Seattle detective Tracy Crosswhite is determined to uncover the truth in the latest installment of New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni’s heart-stopping series.

Returning from an extended leave in her hometown of Cedar Grove, Detective Tracy Crosswhite finds herself reassigned to the Seattle PD’s cold case unit. As the protective mother of an infant daughter, Tracy is immediately drawn to her first file: the abduction of a five-year-old girl whose parents, embattled in a poisonous divorce, were once prime suspects.

While reconstructing the days leading up to the girl’s disappearance, Tracy is brought into an active investigation with former partner Kinsington Rowe. A young woman has vanished on an isolated jogging trail in North Seattle. Divided between two critical cases, Tracy has little to go on except the treacherous deceptions behind a broken marriage - and now, the secrets hiding behind the closed doors of a deceptively quiet middle-class neighborhood.

To find two missing persons, Tracy will have to follow more than clues, which are both long cold and unsettlingly fresh. Given her own traumatic past, Tracy must also follow her instincts - to whatever dark and dangerous places they may lead.

Smartly written; captivating

I have just become a huge fan of Robert Dugoni's Tracy Crosswaite series. Tightly written plot, great narrative and well developed characters... I will now go back to the first in the series and enjoy reading my way through each book.

In Her Tracks

Robert Dugoni has rapidly become one of my favorite writers and Tracy Crosswhite is one of my favorite characters. In this thriller, Tracy has been assigned to cold cases following her recovery and her return from maternity leave. She is trying to solve the disappearance of a young girl who disappeared while going through a corn maze with her father.

Of course, Dugoni is excellent with the police jargon and the descriptions of the environment, but the story line remains believable and interesting. While you will hold your breath wondering what happened to the little girl, the ending will surprise you.

Enjoy the book. I like to get professional narration. It enhances the experience in my opinion.

Another winner in this series!

I have waited, not so patiently, for this book and was not disappointed! Tracy is back at work from maternity leave and her @$$hat boss, Captain Nolasco, has conveniently filled her position. If Tracy wants to remain on the force, she has to take the open position investigating cold cases. Nolasco thinks that he’s setting up Tracy to fail...silly man. Tracy’s first couple of cases are of a 5yr old who went missing 5yrs ago, and 2 prostitutes who have been missing for several months. When Tracy’s old partner, Kins, ask for help to locate a missing young woman, she sees a pattern and believes that the cases may be related. Tracy and Kins search takes them on an interesting trajectory...to 3 brothers and an unlikely accomplice. Great read/listen.

This series keeps getting better!

I have enjoyed every book in the series and find it fascinating that Robert Dugoni keeps the characters fresh and multidimensional. Tracey grows and changes just as we all do with our experiences. I hope Tracey stays in the cold case unit for a while.

Beyond Awesome!

I was a little worried about this series new direction, since a main story line would be gone. However, this was one of the best audible books I have experienced! The story was great, and unlike other books where multiple stories are told, this was not confusing. The narrator told the story in such a way that you knew the characters and felt as if you were there the entire time. Tracy is one of my favorite characters, as are her friends that appear in these books. Robert Dugoni is also one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait on the next book in this series. Get this audiobook; you will be sad when it ends since it is so good.
