Linda’s childhood pastime turns serious when a crime is committed in 1957 in her small hometown of Lykesville, AL—a crime she believes she witnessed but is afraid to disclose because of a threat made against her.

Fast forward thirty-eight years, and the one she assumes perpetrated the crime is now the apparently unstoppable front-runner for governor of her state. Not wanting to see him in this position of power, she decides to take on the challenge of digging through records of the past and pulls together an unlikely band of middle-aged sleuths—one of whom has been holding onto a few secrets of his own.

Due to the opposition she receives from the media and the still-present “good ol’ boy” mentality of the town’s law enforcement, Linda has to weigh whether or not her pursuit is worth the toll it is taking on her family. Along the way, she is reminded that God is in control and, in His timing, He will bring about justice.
