Publisher's summary

When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

Pleasantly surprised

I was able to adjust the speed at which the narrator spoke and that allowed me to enjoy the book. The smacking and gulping disappeared The first chapter did start poorly but the story improved greatly. The characters are beautifully broken and do actually compliment the other's quirks. It was well written and did not include a lot of inner monologue and emotional angst. The characters conversed with each other often and focused on building a relationship. The bedroom play was kept to a minimum and I found it more educational and amusing than repulsive. (No anal play thankfully.) I recommend adjusting the speed on an app if the narrator is too annoying. Now I am eager to hear Book 2 since it is a to be continued book.

Oh YUMMY!!!!

Thank goodness this was awesome! I have been afraid to try this series, too many up and down reviews...it's a rip off of this it's a rip off of that....well I'm here to say it's not a rip off of anything! It's an all new book and an all new story...is there a virgin, is there a billionaire, yes and yes...but the virgin had a good reason to be one...and she's the damaged one...but not super damaged as in some other books. Is there Dom/sub stuff...yes...but in a WHOLE new consensual give and take way.

What can I say....from page one I was totally caught up...I wanted to listen at every moment of the day until it was done, I wanted to know what happened next. Anyone who follows me knows I'm not a fan of contrived drama...drama for the sake of continuing a story line, drama that would never happen if people would just talk to each other. Every book seems to have some to a certain extent, and this one was on the lower end. There was drama but it was of the needed and emotional roller coaster kind. I have to say I hated the main male character...then I adored him....then I thought wow what a total p*ick! Then I adored him again...his mess ups were just SO typical male! I just wanted to scream, you STUPID NAIVE MAN! I think we can all agree that sometimes men confound us with their logic...they aren't being dumb they are just being MALE, and this book was full of stupid male...but in a believable way.

The one small complaint I have in this book is that the female lead wouldn't tell the guy how she felt...I get that she is damaged, but I just wanted to scream at her to get over it, or not even try. I spent most of the book thinking will she give him a chance...does he deserve a chance..will they get a chance?

Bottom line I am off to get book 2, hope book 3 is out soon because I can tell this is going to be one of those all consuming trilogies for me where I am dying to know how it all unravels. I would pay full price for this book, and that's saying something!!!

Just Ok

This book was just ok. The story is decent enough I guess, but the narrator sucks. There's hardly any distinction between her doing the female lead voice, the male lead voice or even the gay best friend voice. plus she reads so slowly it grates. And can someone please tell me why a billionaire would fly commercial!

Similar to 50 Shades

If you enjoyed 50 Shades you’ll probably enjoy this. I got the rest of the books in the series.

I loved every second!

This story was built around two people, both of which have secrets that keep you reading, wondering what was in their pasts. I loved the passion that ignited between James and Bianca. The story solders and I personally couldn't get enough. I am hooked and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Waiting for the 2nd book in the series..

Would you listen to In Flight again? Why?

Yes

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Powers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first..

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I laughed and really liked the detail in the personalities, of her surrounding friends, good and bad.. We could all wish to have a best friend and "protector" that she found early in life. Seems like neither one of them would have made it to where they are now, without each other.

As far as the sexy man... wow.. would like to know a little more about him .. but I would think that comes in the next book.. leaves you waiting to see what happens next...

I have heard this one before …

Poor lovely innocent girl with a platonic male best friend. Her world is turned upside down when she meets a handsome, dominant, sadist billionaire. 50 Shades of Grey. But the writing is much better on this one.

Close to fifty shades, but different enough

This is a great book, and has a legit story line. I couldn't stop listening, and it was extremely well narrated
