Three friends are fishing for red snapper when their boat, tied to an oil rig, begins taking on water and sinks 15 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. They vow to stay together no matter what and must make several life or death decisions. Suffering from hypothermia and severe stings from giant jelly fish, the men desperately try to stay afloat as they realize there are circling sharks below.

In Deep Water is an hour by hour account of a desperate and determined struggle for survival, as well as the Coast Guard’s all-out effort to find the missing men. This fast-paced story has a number of surprising turns in both the survival ordeal and the rescue efforts. Unbelievable story

I basically didn’t put this audiobook down until I was done. What a story and so well told. I will never again go on a boat without at least three people knowing where I am and without making sure that there are ample safety devices on board. You just never know. Everyone in this book, from the men who went through this grueling ordeal to everyone involved in their rescue, are heroes.

This is a very gripping true life story with lots of very interesting background information

The book should be called Miracle in Deep Water

I love listening to true stories, and this one is amazing. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this is simple a miracle; three actually. Great story about 3 friends who are lost at sea during a 6-hour fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico.
