Story
It’s everywhere and in everything and to consciously resist it is a choice. The choice to better yourself and propel yourself forward and achieve your goals. But resistance is hard. It’s much easier to go with the flow. To give in and give up and let temptation envelop you. The problem is temptation tends take you places you don’t want to go or leave you with regret. So, if you want to avoid these setbacks there are two essential tools you needed. They are self-discipline and willpower. They create the habit and mindset changes for long-term success.

What does it take to generate the willfulness to participate proactively in shaping your environment and personal relationships? Is it possible to acquire a sense of purpose that can serve as an active spring of action for you? Many people go through life without a well-thought-out understanding of the true essence of their existence. They're contented to always go with the grain, and to live "normal" lives, even if they don't really understand what the real essence of the "normal" life they're living is.

Story
From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

This book is an excellent guide for the application of the principles of emotional intelligence. Rather than discussing the elements in academic discussion, the author gives a rationale, description of processes, and practical exercises. Like all good teachers, this author tells us much of what we know but have not assembled in the organized applicable format. The writing is conversational and concise.
