Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for 300 years. No table of contents, but from the dates it looked to be some kind of history.

Imajica is my all time favorite!
I love the way Clive weaves his tales. He’s real and raw while being fantastical and whimsical at times. His writing draws you in and the characters and worlds he breaths to life call to you when you’re away. Simon Vance did a remarkable job bringing the characters to life with voice and emotion.

Best Book Ever Written!
I have read this book or listened to it at least a dozen times and I never tire of its wonders. The imagination of Clive Barker is so clearly expressed within its pages. It's an exciting adventure and a deep love story. I'll listen to it again and perhaps several more times in my lifetime.

A new dimension for Barker fans...or 4-5 new ones.
A very wide scope of a fantasy/sci-fi novel. Very different from Barker's horror tropes, but don't let that scare you away. Give this audiobook a listen.

Epic and sublime
There is simply no describing this book to anyone who has not read it, so I'll say only that it is an epic of the imagination that must be crawled inside of, lived in, breathed, tasted, and revisited to fully absorb. This was my first audio experience of the book but my fourth reading; I look forward to the fifth with joy and gratitude.
