Modesitt Jr did it again!

As an Imager fan, it's been thrilling to watch the progress. Thank you, Master Storyteller.

Book 3 is my max

I forgot the stupid use of the names of the Days, hours, min, months, weeks. The 4.95 sale sucked me in for book 3. Not a bad story but I cant take the stupid names he gives Days, hours, min, months, weeks.

Imager’s Intrigue

This one was just way to slow for me. Way to much descriptive detail and meaningless dialogue that did not advance the story. Very little action or conflict.

Outstanding reader

Due to the excellent narration, this Trilogy is much easier to listen to than to read . Without the narration I suspect i would have rated this book much lower.

Might be a good book but the performance poor

What didn’t you like about William Dufris’s performance?

I could not get over the performance. If you have only read the other Imager books and then intend to listen to this one don't. The performance does not fit the setting or characters. There is little to no change in the performance when switching between characters in a conversation which makes it very hard to determine who is saying what. I am so unsatisfied that I can not even bring myself to finish it.

Was okay...

I had high hopes for this one after enjoying the previous two. It is worth a credit especially if you enjoyed the others.

This book just did not have enough conflict. The arc fell pretty flat and the characters did not really evolve at all. That might be kind of harsh, but looking back it feels like the storyline did not take any real jumps forward.

Modesitt ran out of steam for this one.

What did you like best about Imager's Intrigue? What did you like least?

I like the character, and the concept, but not this story which seems to show the author being burned out and trying very hard to produce something as a sequel.

Would you ever listen to anything by L. E. Modesitt, Jr. again?

Yes

Have you listened to any of William Dufris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Poorly

Did Imager's Intrigue inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

This episode was barely entertaning when compared to the first 2 episodes. I have no intention to go on to book 4.

Great book

Listened threw it yet again great story, great narrator would always recommend Modesitt one of my favorite authors. Modesitt
can tell a good story and always has content. Not sure if hes just a big enough name not to have to buckle to the rest of the industries trip into the gutter but makes it easy to pick up his books and listen.

An engaging listen that is missing something

You will enjoy this listen, especially if you have the first two novels. It is missing something, however; a satisfying climax. If that is enough to deter you, you will miss out, as the novel is a gem. Even with the non-explosive climax it is better than either two initial books.
