Tap Andrews has left his past behind. He's no longer a Wyoming lawman backing down any mobs, nor a Brand Inspector dodging rustler's bullets. He has loaded up the wagon and is moving the very pregnant Pepper and their 11-year-old ward to a seemingly perfect new family life in Montana.

His old friend Stack Lowery has invited him to partner on the 50-thousand acres of timbered range land, called the Slash Bar Ranch. There are a few surprises though, such as cows in the front room and Indians camped in the backyard. Then there's the pack of outlaws raiding the neighborhood, and two inept bank robbers bumbling through. Of course, the pacifist neighbors could use some help with the people wanting them off the land. Tap again takes up his guns, steels his courage, and hits his knees to help settle this part of the Old West.

This is another good book about Tap Andrews. In this book Tap and his wife has moved to try ranching. But outlaws has taken over and Tap has to clean them out. This is action packed. It puts me in mind of Stuart Brannon. I wish there was a book with them together. I think this is ljke a spin off from the Stuart Brannon series. Jerry Sciarrio does a great job narrating this book.

If you could sum up I'm Off to Montana for to Throw the Hoolihan in three words, what would they be?

Great in tying up loose ends but and still leaving room for imagination for possibilities for the characters in the future. It saddens me that the series is over.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Roundhouse. The untrustworthy horse that proved his worth and even allowed Tap to pull a bullet out of him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yep, but all in this series were.

Any additional comments?

Nope.

Great on its own and concludes the series nicely.
