She lives life one second at a time, depressed and alone, hoping tomorrow won’t hurt like today.

She finds a job, moves, and hopes that the nightmares won’t swallow her whole.

But just as she thinks that she’s getting better, one of her nightmares walks through the doors of her ER, and that nightmare has a name.

Luca and Frankie, Narration was perfection

This is one of the best stories I have read. I have already read-listened to it twice. It made me cry. It made me laugh. It will be a favorite I go to many times when I need a good story to enjoy. Wow. I really enjoyed this one. No cheating, no cliffhanger. HEA. Narration was excellent, absolute perfection.

(Luca & Frankie): TRIGGERS: deployment, MIA, PTSD, depression. Grab your tissues and a bottle of wine, the PLOT TWIST GAME IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE! Three people, couple: Luca and Frankie, Luca's best friend: Malachi. They went to school together and the book starts with Luca and Malachi leaving for deployment with the plan that Luca would marry Frankie when he returns. Only nothing ever happens that easily when the military is involved. When the call is received that Luca is M.I.A. but Malachi has returned, Frankie is broken. Malachi is badly burned but he's ready to return to life. The problem is, he has no memory of what happened to him and the life he lives now, doesn't feel like his own. One thing that does feel like his, Frankie. Only that's not right because she belongs to his best friend. I was so captured in this story because not only are we dealing with a veteran coming home and trying to get his life back, we also have Frankie in the other end dealing with some deep depression over Luca and guilt for developing feelings for Malachi all while working her first year in residency at the hospital with a jerk of a boss. You will love this book. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s the best story I’ve ever heard.

Oh boy, I teared up badly in this book. These characters pulled me in and never let go. Author Lani Lynn Vale knows how to capture her readers for sure.

Oh my heart! This is an emotional journey to go on with Frankie and Luca. I absolutely loved, adored, and enjoyed every single moment of this book.
