Story
Eating Trees is a rags-to-riches-to-rags story of an ordinary working guy who suddenly has an extraordinary idea. Nick Cerelli has always been "big-boned," as he and his family refer to their tendency to put on weight. He works hard as a laborer but never seems to get ahead until he makes an observation one day while working on a construction job: Fine sawdust feels like flour. "See, my big idea was to make some kinda diet Twinkie outta sawdust. Really. And why not?

Story
It is said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. If that is true, then Harvest Leaves and Roses will emerge as a riveting salute to T.S. Eliot and Walt Whitman. With neither pretense nor ornamentation, Peavy continues the project of Eliot in freeing poetry from its straitjacket of sentimentality and rhyme while accentuating Whitman's sensuality. Yet, this volume is not just about imitation. It digs deep into the zeitgeist of the 20th century and exposes it for what it is with fresh insight and the skill of a linguistic surgeon.

Every firefighter has a treasure trove of interesting stories to tell and the stories more often than not are instructional, as well as exciting. When I was a firefighter, I kept notes of the fires I responded to. Now that I am retired, I have reflected on my career as a firefighter and have written a book about the men alongside whom I worked, facing dangerous situations daily. This book is a compilation of five FIRE short stories written between 1964 and 1972, from notes I wrote after returning from fires.

Publisher's Summary
This book is designed to show women how to handle serious relationship issues without looking like crazy girl Sally. This book is designed to give women the respect they deserve by teaching them how to earn it. Why should any man respect you when you don't respect yourself? To get respect you must earn respect. It's about women losing themselves to keep happy a man who will never love them the way they should be loved. It's about women lying down and accepting any and everything men throw at them. It's about me seeing my two daughters growing up knowing everything they should know, good or bad.

Good advice for young women
Would you listen to If I Were a Chick... again? Why?
Maybe... If my daughters were not already grown and gone I'd definitely listen again... and when my granddaughters are the appropriate age... yes! I'll use it to reference "Grandpa's Advice"
What was one of the most memorable moments of If I Were a Chick...?
A couple... but mostly when Michael is One-on-one with his daughter, giving her the "male" thought process behind the male persona. Every young woman should have a heart-to-heart chat with their dad like that.
What does A. T. Al Benelli bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The characters come to life. I've read some other people's reviews of this guy and I'd say they are pretty accurate.
What did you learn from If I Were a Chick... that you would use in your daily life?
How to approach the young ladies in my family with the brutally honest truth of what motivates most men in the world... and how these ladies need to protect their honor and virtue from subliminal... but no less predatory... tactics.
