Publisher's summary

Addison is like a lot of other girls her age. Her interests include celebrities, fashion, and blogging. She loves spending time with her friends at the mall. And her personality is both bubbly and infectious. Not as infectious, however, as Hepfolk. After the deadly Hepfolk virus turned over 80% of the world into zombies, Addison started learning quickly that life was nothing like it used to be. Surviving after the zombie apocalypse can be hard for anyone, including teenage girls like Addison. Wanting to help others with the lesson she's leaned over her months surviving (and likely also missing her blog) Addison is ready to share this guidebook with fellow survivors fighting to stay alive. Despite the zombies and post-apocalyptic world she is living in, Addison's tips and hint are sure to get you smiling. Between her antidotes and unconventional advice, you're sure to be ready to make it until the end of the world after reading Addison's ideas for survival.

A Nice Mix of Seriousness and Humour!

This was a nice little book that combined humour with a slightly serious touch to it.
I even learned a few things that I never thought about before! The Walking Dead could gain from a few of these tips!

Teen Girl v Zombie Apocalypse

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I definitely would, this book was the perfect combination of dark and funny. It was the perfect length to listen to easily in one sitting.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the format, a story told through basic rules and anecdotes as to how to survive the zombie apocalypse from the view of a 15 year old girl. It was well researched and hilarious.

What about Jamie Ecklund’s performance did you like?

While using convincing north american teen girl speak, it wasn't overdone and irritating but came across as hilariously perky in the face of mortal danger and a horrible world.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The part where Addison explains that the world isn't like a fairytale, that her friend, another young girl, died after falling out of a tree during a zombie attack and that not everyone lives happily ever after.

Any additional comments?

This was fantastic, I would happily listen to other similar stories by this author.

I will DEFINITELY survive a zombie outbreak!

What did you love best about I Will Survive?

This was as epic as I thought it was going to be! So many of these tips and tricks are things I most likely never would have thought of myself. Now I'm not going to lie, zombies have never been my thing. I have always told people that if a zombie apocalypse were to break out, I would no doubt be the first one dead. I didn't very much trust my zombie apocalypse survival skills. Until this book.

What other book might you compare I Will Survive to and why?

There are so many books and movies out there nowadays about zombie apocalyptic worlds, but I've never come across one that's solely a list of survival skills needed to get THROUGH a zombie apocalyptic world. A very unique piece indeed. I have yet to come across one like it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

After going through all those tips and tricks on surviving a zombie apocalypse, I feel one hundred percent sure that I have a chance to survive at least longer than a week or two should zombies decide they want to take over! With that being said, this was an amazing and fun read (or...hear?). It was a quick one too! We could all spare about an hour or so listening to an audiobook that will help us survive in case of a zombie breakout. I mean, you really never know. Better prepared than sorry!

ummm...

This is one of those books where its a easy book to read and just something you can read quick and dont have to keep up with everything that's happening. There no actual plot for this book it's more like a list with why that rule is on the list.

Terrible narration

As soon as I heard the narrator's voice, I knew I was in for a struggle. She was too overzealous, and tried to hard to sound like a teenager... Making the character sound like an idiot. She also pronounced words in an irritating way such as "impor-Dant" instead of important. I think the writing was a bit too juvenile for it to be believeable that Addison was 17, and I would have preferred a more linear story, but the concept was interesting.
