Publisher's summary

Angie Smith was 18 weeks pregnant with her fourth daughter, Audrey Caroline, when doctors discovered conditions leaving Audrey "incompatible with life". Faced with the decision of whether to terminate the pregnancy, Angie and her husband chose to carry Audrey for as long as she had life. This began what turned out to be three months of loving and carrying for a little girl that was not expected to live more than a few minutes. Audrey Caroline lived for over two hours, weighing three pounds, two ounces. Yet, in the midst of the sorrow of loss, there was still joy.

Angie weaves the faith-filled story of Audrey Caroline with a biblical story of hope to help us all to understand how better to cope with loss and disappointment. In I Will Carry You, Audrey's mom tells the sweet story of her baby girl who changed the world. Be part of Audrey's story as you hear of this mom, her daughter, and the family's faith - you will be among the changed!

A Child Loss Family Advisor Tool

I loved this book for so many reasons. While I found some of the scripture quotes/references a bit interruptive in a few sections for the flow of the story, the story, information, advice and experiences were just so heart-touching, sincere, sacred and emotional. Angie carries you on her journey so well, you feel you were there. This book is a wonderful recommendation I will be able to refer families to that I work with who receive unfavorable diagnoses for their babies... but also families who may perhaps feel they are unsure how or if they should include their other children in the decision making, participation, and hospital experience around their baby brother/sister. So many things I love about this book, but my favorites are the Chapter written by Dad (I only wish there had been more); letter/journaling to Audrey; and chapter on child/sibling grief for those with surviving/living children. The book is well done, and perfect if you are a parent suffering a loss at any point in pregnancy and beyond, as well as who may have received devastating news of possible diagnoses... but it also perfect for family, friends, and care providers!

This was a beautiful heartfelt story...

After the loss of my own beautiful Julienne 2 & 1/2 hours after birth; listening to this book provided me with the opportunity to have many cleansing cries, to not feel alone in my journey, I am no longer the only mom that has the feelings described throughout the book, I am normal.... Mourning your baby while pregnant and loosing the baby after birth is horrific, this book was amazing at helping me process and continue to grieve and heal. Thank you!

Thank You!

Amazingly comforting and helpful. We just celebrated the earthly and eternal life of our 3 week old great nephew. The book and song are what we gave to our niece and nephew. I pray they will be comforted and gain some peace.

How do You Handle the Loss of an Inant?

Does an excellent job of telling the raw story of the grief in losing an infant. Not only her grief, but her husband's and their other children's as well. Very well done!
This was my first audio book, and I found it somewhat addictive. Looking forward to listening to another audio book soon.

Beautiful

As a mom who is 6 weeks away from having to say goodbye to my own sweet baby. This book was very helpful and my grieving heart resonated with almost every page. Angie did a wonderful job of retelling God’s story for them and the narrator did a splendid job as well.

Just what we needed

We lost two baby boys last year. Two still born beautiful baby boys. Gavin and Corin. I have never felt more forsaken... more lost... my husband has never felt the need to be in such a survival mode as now. As i became clingy, he began to really push me away. We made several mistakes and really hurt eachother... its grief. Grief is a wild animal. the way Angie articulates grief and joy really helped us learn to navigate our own grief! a life saver! A marriage saver!

Amazing Read

This is a wonderful book that my heart needed. We lost our 2-day old daughter, Anistyn Elyse, 6 months ago on Aug. 28, 2020. Angie's words and experiences brought me healing as we experienced so many similarities. It helped my grieving heart to know that I'm not alone on this journey. I praise Jesus for not leaving me and my continued faith and trust of His goodness even through this tragedy. God bless all the other families out there whom have lost a child!🙏
