Excellent historical fiction!

I loved how this book painted a historically accurate picture of the Battle of Gettysburg. I also liked that The story is told from the point of view of an eleven year old boy who was born a slave.

I would recommend this book to children and adults alike who like historical fiction!

“Hi Tomas.” -Birdie

I love every book on the IS series. Lauren Tarshis words throw me into the book, I also think that the narration is incredible and the people who have done it have amazing voices. They know when to be deep and when to be fast. I loved it and I hope Mrs. Tarshis writes more books.
