Excellent read for Anthropology and Theology

Extremely interesting read! Highly recommend for anyone interested in anthropology, theology, or culture.

The reader was good, but a little fast.

Powerful expansion of Christian thought

I recommend this book. It is an important part of my growing appreciation for Christianity. Girard offers some powerful arguments for the scriptures’ value to humanity, plus a hopeful message for everyone who struggles with a sense of pessimism about the modern world.

An Extraordinary Look at What We Are

Countless listens later, I'm still absorbing more of the truth and thoughtful insight that bursts from every chapter. It's an extraordinary read for those interested in anthropology, psychology, criminology, theology, and deeper Christian learning.

Insightful but an overreach.

Girard's insight about mimetic rivalries and contagion is helpful and has a lot of explanatory power but to try and explain everything by it is an overreach. It also pushes him to explain things that can only be understood by an appeal to transcendent realities as if they were completely understandable on materialist and human terms.

Probably was not a good idea to have his son be the narrator. The narration left a lot to be desired.

Amazing!

Revelatory!

How I wish that so many people I know knew the point of this great book.

It is a true and knew way to understand man through the gospel of Christ.

Wonderful!

A lucid explanation of humanity and religion

This book made me understand the Gospels and human beings like never before.

It provides a guide to interpret many everyday events and changed me from confusion to being opposed to abortion. It also gently highlights the flaws in political correctness that permeates the modern world and gives light for one to live a good life anchored by the wisdom and love of God.
