Story
Ava thinks love should be found in the real world, not on apps that filter men by height, job, or astrological sign. She believes in feelings, not algorithms. So after a recent breakup and dating app debacle, she decides to put love on hold and escapes to a remote writers' retreat in coastal Italy. At the retreat, she's not allowed to use her real name or reveal any personal information. When the neighboring martial arts retreat is canceled and a few of its attendees join their small writing community, Ava, now going by "Aria", meets "Dutch", a man who seems too good to be true.

Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She's made a mistake so huge, it'll wreck any chance of a partnership. Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she's mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Publisher's Summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella.
The irresistible new stand-alone from Sophie Kinsella is a story of love, empowerment and an IOU that changes everything....
Fixie Farr can’t help herself. Straightening a crooked object, removing a barely there stain, helping out a friend...she just has to put things right. It’s how she got her nickname, after all.
So when a handsome stranger in a coffee shop asks her to watch his laptop for a moment, Fixie not only agrees, she ends up saving it from certain disaster. To thank her, the computer’s owner, Sebastian, scribbles her an IOU - but of course Fixie never intends to call in the favour.
That is, until her teenage crush, Ryan, comes back into her life and needs her help - and Fixie turns to Seb. But things don’t go according to plan, and now Fixie owes Seb - big time.
Soon the pair are caught up in a series of IOUs - from small favours to life-changing debts - and Fixie is torn between the past she’s used to and the future she deserves.
Does she have the courage to fix things for herself and fight for the life and love she really wants?

Love it
As usual Kinsella takes a bunch of frustrating elements and a heroine you want to shake, and turns it all around so that we are rooting for her and for a happy end for all. The secondary characters are really funny and touching. I loved Leila!

Not Quite There
This is hard. I love Sophie Kinsella. The Shopaholic series is both empowering and the way it embraces quirkiness in a positive light, it’s such a fun ride to join Becky and her adventures. But unlike Becky, Fixie is rather weak and kinda depressing. Her self image is too poor and it’s annoyingly uninspiring. Despite trying so hard to relate or understand her, it’s not possible to do so unfortunately till the end. What a missed opportunity.

Fun Thrilling Frustration
I am not sure how many times I shouted "FFS Fixie! NO! Just get a freaken grip! Please".
However through all the frustration I enjoyed being part of the Farr family for a couple of days. Sophie Kinsella definitely stirred up all sorts of different emotions from anger to compassion to love to hope to wanting to punch a wall,..
Fiona Hardingham made the story. The performance was excellent.

Really disappointed
As a hardcore fan of Sophie Kinsella, I was massively disappointed by this one (having waited for it as a preorder)
It lacked any of the charm that her previous novels have had, the characters were all deeply unappealing except for The Love Interest who was just a bit dull.
The narration was only okay - leaning heavily towards cliché and caricature for all except the two main characters - but her portrayal of the heroine’s sister was just embarrassing.
Having bravely pushed on through 3/4 of it and realising that I no longer cared what happened to any of them, I ended up returning the book for a refund of my audible credit - something I’ve done only a handful of times in my years with audible.
If you want the very lightest, least challenging and most one-dimensional of chick-lit then this might float your boat but even for that purpose there are dozens of other books that do it better.
I can only hope this is a blip because I have always enjoyed her previous novels (albeit that recent shopaholic offerings have been weaker than the earlier instalments)

Boring and predictable
I feel sorry to write this review as I have previously loved Sophie Kinsella books and was excited about this new one. But unfortunately, I couldn’t even finish it. It was so dull and boring.
Story line was weak and uninteresting, mainly about a high road shop, which I doubt anyone would care about. The characters were overly stereotypical and frankly, I found them annoying.
I kept waiting for the humour which is usually prevalent in Kinsella’s books but it never came. Felt almost cringeworthy, as if trying too hard when none of it was in the least bit funny.
Very disappointed, I had to return the book.

Really disappointed
I am a fan of Sophie kinsella and her books but I was so disappointed with this book. I found Fixie extremely irritating and didn't like her character until the last 2 chapters. The other characters were all equally annoying. I wouldn't recommend using an audible credit on this.

Brilliant Laugh out loud love story
am a massive Sophie Kinsella Fan especially the shopaholic series which is actually the series that got me into Chick Lit.
In the book the author brings us fresh new characters....when we meet Fixie Farr a character that I adore. I have to admit that I totally got her sense of humor because it is so much like my own. She has a tendency to fix things.
We follow her on a journey where she finds herself torn between the present and the past when her teenage crush Ryan comes back into her life. But can she fix her own life?!
This is a brilliant laugh out loud love story you cannot help but route for Fixie.
I Owe you one is a fun, witty engaging read which I highly recommend.

Frustrating
I love Sophie Kinsella, but I found this book frustrating and I struggled to finish it. The main character is supposed to be all about “fixing” everything, but I found her to be infuriatingly weak and boring. Right up until the end she relies on others to give her what she thinks she deserves.
Plot is slow, and a non eventful.

The main character is the worst person I have ever met in a book
I wanted to slap the main character so hard the whole time. You are made to feel like she is a victim, but her behaviour is actually obsessive and stalkerish and unhealthy. Then she goes after a guy in a relationship and the book tries to justify this being an ok thing by making you think the other woman is a bitch. Actually, most of the characters in this book are extremely hard to deal with (aside from Layla, the only decent character). And yet, I finished the book. The story itself was moderately entertaining.

This book made me angry!
What a weak push over Fixie was and by the time she grew a back bone it was way too late for me! The blurb on the back didn't really match the story I thought I was getting.

Brilliant
Sophie Kinsella is amazing. She brings a gentle rawness to her books and blends in laughter and tears. There are always lessons to be learnt. Fiona Hardingham is, hands down, the master of narration. I would listen to her read the dictionary! A dynamic duo!
