it was ok

This sounded like a motivational speech. It's good if that's what you need, but I craved more data or research. Plus the work is kind of short.

Definitely useful!

As a newer counselor, this book was fantastic in helping me better understand BPD to better treat my future clients. I will be suggesting this book without a doubt!

Unhelpful, at best

I don't know if this could have been more condescendingly or poorly written. I tried to make my way through it, but simply the amount of shaming language within the first five chapters rendered me unable to choke anymore down.

Vapid and disappointing.

it was hard to listen to. Not because of the audio but because of the writing. There were so many "should"s to begin with, it came across as dogmatic (and ignorant). additionally, a lot of "facts" were used without credible sources, and colloquialisms from other authors' writings on the same subject matter were mixed into the illustration of the main idea. This was not at all what I was looking for.

Don’t do it

If you are here because you want concise but fair information on BPD then look elsewhere. The “treatment” ideas include fake it for self confidence and copy someone who seems confident- a direct contradiction to a BPD coping mechanism of ‘mirroring’. I had to give up by 30min in. The search continues. Also it was impossible not to hear ‘fat Tony’ from the Simpsons in the narrators voice. Not worth it. Better BPD podcasts with more insight are available on Spotify.

Dislikes

I disliked the patronising tone of narrator. The content is too shallow, for my level of knowledge at least. Didn't even finish it....
