Wilma (called Willy) had no idea why her father had kept her away from his place of birth or the family mine. It just wasn’t discussed. Ever since she was a young teenager, he had stopped taking her to help him in the family gold mine, on her summer vacations. The mine didn't produce very much but it helped. After the passing of her father, the mine was now hers and she wanted to go check on it. Once she and her fiancé pulled in, she found someone had broken into the main tunnels and was stealing from her.
Her father admitted just before he passed that those relatives in the nearby town of Gatling weren’t all what they seemed. Some were crazy as all get out and that’s why he had , as said escaped there as a young man. He should have told her they were a bunch of sociopaths and given her the whys. It was way too late for that now.
