Publisher's summary

Let the hunt begin....

Lisa Madison wants a husband, and she has just the candidate in mind: Robert Langley. Trouble is, the infuriating man insists on seeing her as the impish girl she once was - even as every other gentleman in London has taken notice of her womanly... charms. When her beauty lands her in danger, it's Robert who comes to the rescue, only to announce his affections are not of the romantic kind!

Robert saw enough sorrow in his parents' union to know he wants nothing to do with marriage, which is exactly what he'll be trapped into if he acts on his desire for the irksome siren. And then Lisa does what Robert least expects: gives up on him! As feigned indifference gives way, blistering passion burns at last. But just before the pair can succumb to hard-won bliss, an enemy with unfinished business lurks, threatening to destroy them both.

I usually love love love L.S.'s books BUT.....

Lady stupid will have you continually rolling your eyes to the heavens saying...."..oh no, surely she isn't, she can't, she wouldn't, she's not that stupid, but alas she is and she does!! She runs off here and there, always ignoring sensible advice and gets herself in trouble which was the main storyline of a weak book. I could not empathize with her in any way because she was just so frustrating.

Coupled with that, I thought the narrator was sooo sloooow, I put the speed on my iPhone to x1 speed (which doubles the speed) and that sounded about right. I don't think the Publishing Houses give enough thought to the narrators of their books but it is SO important, they can make even a great book unbearable!

I love L. S.'s vampire books and I love romance books - Paranormal, Historical or Modern Day (hundreds by now) but I would say "don't waste your credit" but if you've listened to the others in the series and your a fan then you will probably ignore me!

This girl is so dumb.

Would you try another book from Lynsay Sands and/or Jaime Birch?

Yes, I truly enjoyed the first story in this series. But this girl is so stupid. Can anyone be this naive?

What could Lynsay Sands have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Given the female lead a little more intelligence. She got on my last nerve.

Have you listened to any of Jaime Birch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, they are about the same.

Was Husband Hunt worth the listening time?

It was a struggle to finish it. It seemed to go on and on.

Great book!

Wonderful book to pass the time on a rainy day! The characters are well fleshed out and the story line is interesting and fun to listen to. The narrator keeps the pace going and the tone accurate to the scene. I'd listen to it again and again!

creative consistently

Where does Husband Hunt rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the Regency London Historical Romance category this is a good book. I didn't feel the humor as much as in Countess... but its a very good extension of it... I really did enjoy it just didn't find it AS good as countess. I'd say this one is great if I hadn't just listened to countess and immediately after listened to this one.

What other book might you compare Husband Hunt to and why?

I'd say it would fit with Stephanie Laurens and maybe even in with some Amanda Quick minus the Arcane Society.

Have you listened to any of Jaime Birch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't, but I definitely would again! There wasn't the usual adjustment time where you get used to the voice, cadence and characters. It started comfortably and stayed that way. The characters were well portrayed and I will never hesitate when I see her name as the narrator. I was disappointed to see that the three books in the series all had different narrators but her voice and characters were not a bad fit at all. The characters were different then their duplicates in Countess but they were close enough to feel familiar.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Opions of love and the suspenseful path to it.

Any additional comments?

READ COUNTESS FIRST! If not than don't bother... because the husband hunt is a total spoiler! Husband Hunt is the continuation and Countess is desribed in detail. Countess was incredible and it would be a shame to ruin it and more of a shame to skip it. I haven't yet read the third...but altho the timeline of it was before this one I don't actually know if it serially before it.

Cute and perfect ending to a funny series!

I was definitely not pleased to hear a new narrator again but I can only assume it was on purpose? I don't know! Jaime Birch was good but at first it was hard to get over the new voices again! It really does change the way you see the characters. Lisa was not as sassy as she was portrayed in the earlier two books so that was kind of disappointing.

Otherwise, great ending to a cute series! I had lots of laughs!

This girl is an idiot

I can’t stand her. I don’t think I can finish this book. So selfish. And the family encouraging her to trap him in marriage. Nope.

Part of a series

I liked this one well enough. But there was very little build on the male love interest character. It explained his desire not to marry well enough but very little of who he was. He may have been described in the previous books but if you didn’t read the other two books this one isn’t very good (as a stand alone).

Enjoyed it

Enjoyed the story, the plot was really good. It was funny in quite a few parts, but Lisa was such an idiot at times, I couldn't believe the trouble she got herself into because of her stupidity, at times she acted like a child. And she was constantly saying 'Oh' like she was dense or something.
The narrator was my least favourite of the 3 narrators of this series. The men sounded like either pompous assess or like women or like young boys. Daniel's and Richard's, the 2 heroes of the previous books, were awful.
Apart from the first book I don't think I will be listening to them again.

fun entertaining story

I love the Madison sister's stories, HOWEVER if I heard the word HOWEVER one more time I would have screamed. I'm not sure why Lynsay insisted on using it so much. I swear I she used that word more than a hundred times in each book!
